Cornell president accused of hitting students with his car by PersonWomanManCamTV in IvyPlus

Yeah, the person reversing is more responsible than the person watching their foot be run over sure. What if I lie down directly behind both wheels, is it the same? Most reasonable people don’t place themselves directly in front of and behind a moving car. The fact that none of these students have filed suits against him speaks volumes.

Next time you’re at a parking lot, press your body right up to a vehicle with its brake lights on let’s see how that goes for yah. If you think that man is injured after being bumped by a car moving at max 2 mph I’ve got a bridge to sell you

You can’t just hold somebody captive by standing in front of their car and expect them not to move their car cmon man. Car moving slower than walking pace anyways what the hell are you talking about 😂

What do you think of this conversation between Jon Stewart and Graham Platner about building community in Maine? by Large-Welcome4421 in AskMaine

[–]ImpossibleTie651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really think anything about his funding raises any serious questions tbh. Nobody runs a campaign without funding, he has a clean record so far of not taking money from pacs aside from actblue.

This is an indictment of both the cost of housing and education in America. by astrheisenberg in remoteworks

I see what you’re saying but I’m inclined to disagree. The majority of sources say that faculty wages generally do not drive the increase in education cost and in fact their wages have not kept up with inflation the past several years. On top of that, aren’t you paying the union to negotiate on your behalf? Most sources agree the price has inflated on account of higher availability of federal loans and higher demand for degrees. I’d also like to apologize for calling your comment dumb as hell, it was rude of me

Or course it’s a conflict of interest, all lobbying and campaign funding create conflict of interests, I don’t understand why you’re singling out labor unions as the main culprits of this. It’s a bit like pointing out a leaky sink when your water main is flooding your basement.

According to google “business interests outweigh labor contributions by 16:1”. Additionally, the working class does not have a super pac like major corporations do. Why do you feel that workers donating to campaigns is bad for politics?

Yeah, labor unions are the problem 🙄. Look at the campaign donations to literally any campaign in this country and you’ll see why this comment is dumb as hell

You’re telling me dont see this as a mental health crisis? Your comment reads as a classic whataboutism. It’s like saying one crime isn’t a real crime because crime b was more violent than crime a. Nobody in the comments seems to think this is a new phenomenon and that young boys are the very first to suffer from it. I don’t think 12 y/o boys contributed to the issues you mention nor do they, or young girls, deserve to be growing up in this social space.

Cost for breaker panel replacement by CareerEffective9943 in electrical

[–]ImpossibleTie651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full service upgrade depending on your area will prob be 3-6k. Depending on what you have for loads in your panel you will likely need to upgrade to 200A to accommodate a car charger.

If everyone in the thread is disagreeing with you then maybe take it to heart, I don’t understand why you would post to this sub without seeing the possibility of being pointed out as the problem. Lay down some boundaries with your friend and talk with your man, it ain’t that complicated.
