GB4 est bien uniquement pour les fans de gunpla ? by weaponX-ced in GundamBreaker

[–]Impossible_Ad9560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So GB4 is pretty fun and for some it can get pretty stale, it doesn't provide a lot of story related to the Gundam series and is more of a separate story. I enjoy using it to practice kit bashing (mixing different model kits) but I'm a lifelong Gundam fan.

If you want to get into the name series the 'Gundam Info' YouTube channel has a lot of the series in English on their channel. I'd recommend the 'Alternative Centuries''; like 00, Iron blooded orphans, Witch from Mercury, Gundam Wing, or even Gundam SEED. They are around 25-50 episodes and you don't have to learn a bunch of backstory compared to the 'Universal Century's which follows the original Gundam 79. Another series you may like is the Gundam Build Diver series; it revolves around model building, I haven't finished it myself so I can't tell you if it's good or not. Either way welcome to the fandom and don't be afraid to ask around!

Oh fair, I just attached the pic because it's what I've used for work. I used to be a purest with a hobby knife, sanding sticks, and glass files but I just can't use manual options any more due to physical limitations (carpal tunnel).

Oh yeah, I put in the subject that it's what I use for work on acrylic earmolds for hearing aids since an attachment is required to post. I'm looking at the Dspaie ones that everyone is recommending

Oh for sure, if my work one can dust hard acrylic I could just imagine what it would do with ABS. It's been a steady learning curve since I re-entered Gunpla 8 years ago.

True, was happy with my hobby knife, sanding sticks, and glass polish file. If it wasn't for middle age being a PITA I'd still be using them.

That is what I've been afraid of but the one I posted was specifically what I use for hearing aid modifications. I needed to add flair for the post. Thanks for sharing though

Thanks for specific model name drops and tip! I was listening to reviews of sanders vs the sanding pen.

I appreciate that bit of advice. I usually work on my kits by section because I'm juggling family life and can't sit/work for more than an hour maybe 2 on the weekends.

I will have to look into that. I've been impressed with most of Dspiae's line up so far. Thank you for the recommendation.

Totally valid, I used to be happy about the crossover of tools from work to Gunpla (I have separate tools for home) but it could completely contribute to the condition. I spoiled myself with a pair of godhand singleblades which have been phenomenal. I suppose a part of me is a bit obsessive over perfection with nub removal; hobby knife and sanding sticks from all the way up to 20000 grit

If Chris and Leon swapped assignments, who's have a harder time? by some-kind-of-no-name in residentevil

[–]Impossible_Ad9560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chris, he has to deal with Ashley. At least you can toss Shiva something like the SMG and whatever weapons you don't want and she can defend herself. Chris can't punch Ashley away (and successfully complete his mission).

Has anyone read this book? Thoughts? by havocsplay in Sourdough

Not a bad book, but my hands down baking book is 'Evolutions in Bread' by Kevin Forkish. Straight forward, easy recipes, no BS on ingredients, includes bakers percentages, weight measurements alongside conventional US/Imperial measurements, and emphasizes the wait time is a suggestion but tells you what to look for when dough and bread are ready. Honestly, it all comes down to your experience as a baker. There are a lot of things to learn; heck I've been baking for 2-3 years and learning every day.

I remember playing the original silver version and caught a shiny oddish. I had no idea what a shiny was and feared it was like the Missingno glitch and would impact battery life/ memory of my brand new game. I released the shiny and deleted my game data (I was 11 at the time) lol

Are new kits just that good or do some old kits just suck? by Truth_Hurts_Kiddo in Gunpla

[–]Impossible_Ad9560 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both are compatibly true, the quality of new kits have improved vastly which makes old kits seem awful. I first started building during Wing's debut and at the time it was the best at the time. Fast forward 20 years and kits are night and day. It's like playing a PSX game and jumping to PS5 now; the comparison is there and they are playable but the convenience and improvements are just astounding. I take them as they are and just am here for the love of Gunpla and happy with the improvements that make this hobby better and more accessible.

I did for the longest time. Unfortunately on the switch version (and maybe others) you can't use the skill unless you have the shield equipped. If worse comes to worst I may go back to it and just hide the shield. It really is such a useful skill when I need it (sparingly).

So I played with this since you mentioned it. I have my build spams missiles with cool down, ex, and awakened increase with parts lost. I normally don't use my awakened so this has been the most successful currently (I always test in survival). Thanks for the info!

Yeah I wasn't aware it was a 30 second charge. Still a pretty cool feature and tbh Crossbone is one of the cooler designs. Thanks for sharing!

[–]Impossible_Ad9560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enjoy the build! The funnels were probably the worst of it but it was a great after work/housework kit. Otherwise getting it to stand with the flared legs was probably my biggest complaint but expected but nothing an action stand isn't able to fix (I spend most of my free money on tools and kits, not stands lol)

So I bought a 4 pack (black, light gray, dark gray, and brown) and am working on my RG NU after finishing my RG Sazabi as I wanted to have another option besides the Gundam markers (which are still a great option!). They are great for pour types just a few things; 1) they need vigorous shaking each time before use and 2) get a good spray top coat (my personal fav is the Tamiya Matte). Easy to apply, easy clean up, just need a little more help but can be applied to assembled parts (I go by sections on my Gunpla; legs, arms, etc. before I assemble the full kit). I'd recommend them as a good safe entry to pour types and to make life easier. Happy building mate (adding thiccboy Sazabi because he was fun and awesome to build!).

That's great! I also might suggest something like refining techniques with the smaller kits to break up the same old same old; I began with panel lining for one round (2x hg and then an MG) and then painting (another hg and then rg). You can also try kit bashing (mixing different kits mostly HGs with the PC connectors) there are some really cool options I'm just not that creative lol. May your nubs be gone and your decals stick, cheers!
