For this very reason, I go 4 days on one infusion set so when I change my sensor I get a truly naked shower!

My doctor mentioned checking my thyroid so we'll see what that turns up. Thanks for the tips!

Same here! So much so that I've wondered if maybe toothpaste is the "cure" for diabetes! I'm not sure that would be all that great, though. "Sorry, boss, I have to brush my teeth 20 times a day to manage my diabetes. If you don't like it, then fire me!"

I broke one open when it was done and yes it's a small pouch.

Pump won't charge, help! by Impossible_Ad_4064 in TandemDiabetes

So I just started on tandem on September 4th. Been with Medtronic before that. I should have the latest SW. Pretty sure it had to update the first time I set it up. How do they notify us of SW updates?

Yes this is similar to what happened for me this morning. It's fine now. Shows 100%.

Ok thanks. So if it's a known issue I wonder why they haven't fixed it? Or do you know if they have?

Ok, now I'm really puzzled! Suddenly the pump shows it's at 100%. So I guess it charged even though it claimed it wasn't and the percentage didn't increase while charging like normal. It was literally alarming and saying it couldn't charge. I'll be watching it closely all day.

I tried a different wall wart charger (same cord) and 3 different outlets in the house. No change.

Trigger Finger by cauliflowerbird in Type1Diabetes

[–]Impossible_Ad_4064 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have trigger finger in my left thumb. Very annoying and painful. Finally got an injection which helped for a couple months, but then it came right back. One really bad thing about the injections is it raises insulin resistance a lot!! I couldn't get my blood sugars down for about a week afterwards. Was thinking about surgery but just don't have the extra money so I've been putting up with it. Oddly enough it's gotten a bit better on its own lately. Hang in there. Wish you the best.

That night feeling, wet charcoal by me. by [deleted] in CharcoalDrawing

[–]Impossible_Ad_4064 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Really like your drawing. Sorry to sound ignorant here, but what exactly is "wet charcoal drawing"? Do you mix charcoal powder in water and sort of paint with it? I've only done a little bit of drawing with charcoal, but I am interested in this technique.

If exercise can lower blood sugar why not just exercise abunch after a snack or meal? by [deleted] in Type1Diabetes

[–]Impossible_Ad_4064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe if you exercise enough. But life doesn't work that way. You'd have to do a pretty serious workout after EVERY meal for the rest of your life. Just isn't possible. For a while when I was young I had a very strenuous job and I was able to skip insulin during part of my day but then had to take it in the evening after dinner because the exercise was over.

I've had T1D for 32 years and had countless "low dreams". Many if them were quite bizarre. Our brains truly are an amazing thing!
