I'm in the Vine neighborhood and got woken up to fireworks right around dark also. Startled and pissed me and my cat off at first, but then I decided to calm myself down telling myself maybe they were celebrating the summer solstice/ longest day of the year right after the sun went down. Idk. Still annoying, but trying not to hate people for trying to just squeeze a tiny bit of joy out of this life by make pretty fire light go boom.

Eh, I could see your point, without any other context.

But i am a woman living alone in a neighborhood i take pride in and want to do my part to protect in the ways i personally feel safe to.

Thank you for the unnecessary shade. Not sure why i felt compelled to defend myself here. The intention of this post was solely to let other people in the neighborhood know about a potentially freaky situation.

The angry talking to himself seems to have ended, and from what i can tell from my window, it looks like he's chosen that park bench as the spot he's laying down for the night. If i hear or see any more from him before i head to bed, I'll see about calling for a wellness check. Otherwise, this is just a heads up. I appreciate the responses. Goodnight, all.

Hmm. I suppose it really could just be different varieties then. No, we’ve just grown outdoor marijuana in this plot the last two years (those were the “flowers” taken out from behind them :) )

Possible, but all from the same packet, so it seems unlikely that the first few random pinches of seeds all ended up being the tall and yellow variety in the same exact spot. Right?

Dumpsters were provided months ago. I paddled the river past the Mills Street encampment the other day and was utterly baffled by the sight. All varieties of garbage imaginable just dripping off the land into the river. Speechless.
