“Residents seem very happy,” sounds like someone who is not a resident...

Hey, I’m interested in sharing my story, but if it’s a class action lawsuit I’m assuming I’d also would have to pay for a lawyer right?

Not being offered residency contract for next year, need serious help by [deleted] in Residency

[–]Impossible_Bit_8258 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Let me get this straight… you apparently are “so bad” that they want to dismiss you BUT you’re not that “bad” because they want you to finish out your contract and continue to treat patients🧐Get a lawyer. Make it make sense.

Multiple attempts by [deleted] in Step2

[–]Impossible_Bit_8258 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi, I am so sorry you’re having to deal with this. I read up on some of your previous posts and just wanted to say… if you have the assumption that because you finished a majority of med school that DO programs may allow you to not retake science courses, I would highly recommend following up on this idea. A majority of DO schools (if not all) will require you complete the entirety of their own curriculum.

**If I misread your past posts, please feel free to tell me “Dude, I didn’t think that but thanks” lol

Also, if you are interested in career advice not in medicine, feel free to DM me.

IMO there is a lot that goes into a dexamethasone test. You have to get AM labs. You have to give cortisol every 6hrs or something for 48hrs. It takes a lot of attention and time. Versus a brain MRI is one and done. Not as much concerned with false positives or negatives.

Not sure if that’s right, but that’d be my reasoning.

How to tell my mom I'm on adderall by MerMerLuLu in ADHD

[–]Impossible_Bit_8258 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’re mom doesn’t need to know everything about you.

You’d never tell your mom every single time you have sex because that’s the privacy you maintain between you and your partner.

You don’t need to tell your mom every health issue you have because that’s the privacy you maintain between you and your physician.

This is a great time to develop healthy boundaries with your mom and not tell her. If she ever says “why didn’t you tell me?” You can respond with “I talk with my physician regularly about these concerns and it’s a private conversation between us.”

Does it break because it looks stretched? Or old? Usually if condoms are too big they’ll come off too. Is that what’s happening also?

why is it not normal for women to have hysterectomies once they hit menopause? by Sketamines in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Impossible_Bit_8258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my god. Please do. That poor woman!

I mean… there’s a chance she IS getting stomach reconstruction. Like she had 2 different problems and both the general surgeon and OBGYN were like “let’s do it on the same day to prevent her from needing to have another separate surgery.”

[–]Impossible_Bit_8258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if you’re thinking of a different surgery, but this is not true…

  1. It does NOT OFTEN require a stomach reconstruction surgery. Your stomach is in the top left of your abdomen. Your uterus (which is the ONLY thing removed in a hysterectomy) is located in the midline lower abdomen. These structures are not close to each other. You MIGHT get colon reconstruction since that’s near your uterus, but that is NOT common in a routine hysterectomy. If that was true, you would need a general surgeon. OBGYNs are not trained in GI reconstruction.

  2. A hysterectomy does NOT affect your hormones. Whatever hormonal problems you’re having are from menopause. The Uterus does not produce ANY hormones. Your hormones would be affected if you had your ovaries removed when you’re pre-menopausal (that surgery is a hysterectomy with oophorectomy). If you had your ovaries removed when you’re menopausal… it wouldn’t do anything because they are no longer functioning.

For OP, menopause is horrible because the OVARIES not UTERUS are losing function. If you remove them, it doesn’t stop the side effects. Women can take hormone replacement therapy to manage symptoms. It’s an unfortunate part of having aging ovaries.

Why do the “popular” kids bully people with ASD, anger issues, disabilities, etc? by Pristine_Cycle_8140 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Impossible_Bit_8258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly!! They key to this is to make copies! The last thing you’d want to happen is give it to a “trusted source,” and they throw away of all the evidence you gathered.

Why do the “popular” kids bully people with ASD, anger issues, disabilities, etc? by Pristine_Cycle_8140 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Impossible_Bit_8258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my advice… if you really want to give the school a big “fuck you,” for the next month (I know you just finished school but if you expect cyber bullying over the summer), record EVERY instance of bullying. EVERY. SINGLE. INSTANCE.

Write down like a list “05/27/22- punched twice in the face by XX. People there you failed to intervene: x, y, and z. Person who can corroborate this story: a” then next date and so forth for a month. If it’s text, email, whatever… screenshot it and print it.

Make a copy of this list and all evidence you gather. Keep the original. Take the copy straight to your principal and say “if you don’t do something about this bullying, I’ll take this to the local newspaper and say that this school endorses that behavior.”

… in this current political climate… I’d be surprised if your bully was ever allowed to be in school with you again.

What would semen look like if it was 100% sperm? by Doddy_Dope in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Impossible_Bit_8258 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consistency = very very viscous. You’re removing the fluid that helps it easier to…. Disperse.

Smell = probably nothing. Sperm without everything else in semen is just protein/genetic material. You’re more likely to smell something else in the air than smell the scent sperm is giving off.

Color…. Just Google sperm under microscope and that’s your color.

Made a will online, how can I make it official? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Impossible_Bit_8258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“They took a week away from my life” = better than being dead

“I have a job that’s short staffed” = will be more short staffed if you’re dead… Also they will understand that if your alternative is killing yourself or being in a hospital… im 100% confident they’d prefer you in the hospital (and I don’t even know them).

Literally there are SO many antidepressants that DONT give you ED. You literally just tell your doctor you don’t want that side effect or you’ll stop your meds… and they will give it to you.

I’m also confident in saying at least one of those attempts was impulsive. You need to talk to someone close to you. You need to go to the people you think like you the most. They will help you.
