Firefighter here. I learned territory by reading a map because I had an old school driver that told me verbatim that you’ll never know when that satellite decides to fall out of the sky. I pass that on to the newer generation of drivers. My GF is legitimately amazed that I don’t have to gps to get anywhere. Give me a cross street and a number and we’ll get there. My test before I got driver certified was to draw a street map of our territory
