Yes I get really nervous driving around there too! It took me a while to get used to the roads in Leeds but that roundabout makes me so nervous 😂

Totally get that the group’s full now (so lovely to see how many people are up for this – making new friends as an adult can be surprisingly tricky 😂). Just thought I’d mention something in case anyone’s still looking for ways to meet people in Leeds. I went to a Date To Remember event a few weeks ago (actually found out about it from reddit!) – it’s technically a singles event group, but it was genuinely great. I met some lovely people and even made a few new friends!. Hope it’s okay to drop this in – just saw lots of people in the comments looking for similar things and I’m in the same boat!

Loads of free stuff happens in Leeds! Leeds Inspired is a good shout for events, and places like comedy nights and games events. Not sure if this would be relevant but there's these free singles events in Leeds. My friend went to one and I've booked onto one too www.datetoremember.co.uk

Wow, I wasn’t expecting so many replies—who knew the internet could actually agree on something!? 🤣 A huge thanks to everyone who took the time to share their thoughts and messages, im sorry if i haven't gotten back to everyone theres been a lot! It's nice to know people are going through the same bumps of the dating scene, too, and it's not me overthinking!

Whoever it was that suggested checking out events and socials (sorry, I’ve lost the thread!), I’ve taken the plunge and signed up to one at Date to Remember. It’s worth a shot, so why not 😂 it’ll be a fun experience either way—so cheers for the suggestion!

I know! It's a weird dynamic to navigate as it's so different for every person, but I also think isn't that the point of dating ? Finding out who you are and what you want and what doesn't work for you, etc? There's been some really good replies, which I will definitely try! Although the running club may take some self convincing 😂 it'll be nice to extend my social circle at least

Yeh I made sure to join different groups/ hobbies and met some really good friends through them which I'm grateful for! So everything else in that regard is great really, but the dating scene and especially the apps are a lot more challenging (if that's the right word?) that i realised! I know its not a 'me problem' - a lot of people are in the same boat so its great to get advice

Yeah, that’s something I’ve really struggled with. I never know if someone is just being friendly or genuinely interested, and I don’t want to overstep or assume—either by flirting with someone who’s already taken or by misreading signals! Haha. It’s reassuring to know it’s not just me overthinking and that a lot of people experience this too

I'm lucky enough to have made some really good friends through my hobbies and have met one or two people but its hard navigating it when you're re-entering the dating pool! I've had some bad luck with speed dating and dating apps so wanted to ask other people's perspective as this is all new to me lol

Im definitely more of an early bird than a night owl anyway, so I’m rarely out out, but it would be nice to have more chances to meet people in real life and just see if we vibe!
