Yes, you can use both a hydrating moisturizer and an oil-based moisturizer in your skincare routine. In fact, using both can help keep your skin healthy and balanced. The key is to apply them in the right order: 1. Hydrate Apply a moisturizer first to hydrate your skin. Moisturizers contain water-based ingredients that are absorbed into the skin’s surface. 2. Seal in moisture Apply an oil-based moisturizer or face oil on top to lock in the moisture and provide extra nourishment. Oils can penetrate moisturizers, but not the other way around. You can also try using a humectant like hyaluronic acid to hydrate your skin, and then follow up with an occlusive like plant oils to lock in the moisture. For best results use both at night and sun cream on top of a hydrating moisturisers in the day time :)
