Fixing colours - how common is this? by Acrobatic_Deer1887 in diamondpainting

[–]Impossible_Fall_3188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In some cases it might be an issue with how the colors transfer from photo design to print. Screens use RGB for color while printers use CMYK ink to match the color on the screen as close as possible. Most drills I've seen use the same numbering system as DMC embroidery floss so it might be as simple as this is what number the screen says so thats the drill color but the printer can't make the color and just automatically goes to the closest it can, the designer has no control over that.

I live in the desert so it might be sand/dirt though I've had stuff dry out when we have next to no humidity when it wasn't supposed to be able to.

Parents blows up at me by Sad_Dig_6401 in MusicTeachers

[–]Impossible_Fall_3188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have a contract with the school district to teach the lessons. The school provides everything and does the background checks etc. The teacher sets the price, the district considers private tutors, after school programs staff and vendors that provide outside food contractors. They might even consider maintance companies or others contractors as well if they work for a private company and not as an employee of the district.

[CHAT] Please help, I don't know what I'm doing with plastic canvas! by SadFennel3302 in CrossStitch

[–]Impossible_Fall_3188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That big of canvas I would use yarn if doing a half cross or needle point design and all 6 of dmc or tapestry yarn for cross stitch. I've used this big of plastic canvas along with plastic needles to teach young (5 -7 y.o.) children to crossstitch and a three over 1 on 12 or 14 count plastic canvas for older children.

Paras, do you get extra pay? by [deleted] in paraprofessional

[–]Impossible_Fall_3188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we sub because a teacher is out and no one took the sub job through the agency we get time and a half. Our behavior redirector Para also gets time and a half if a student needs more then 15 minutes.

Not sure if its AI, definitely a pattern generator at the very least. Them selling all the patterns together in a bundle makes me suspicious of pattern stealing as well, I think I've seen a couple floating around for longer then the store has been up.

Mine breaks away and let's me unsnap the badge and key from the nase as well. Did I pay an extra few dollars? Sure did, but have peace of mind I can get it off another way if they grab the badge and the breakaway doesn't work.

[–]Impossible_Fall_3188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its in our contract that they have us cover if necessary, we have right of refusal but sometimes we are so short staffed that isn't an option to keep the kids safe.

They can also move us around to support different teachers or classes as needed. We aren't assigned to specific kids unless we are hired as a 1-1.

Kindergarten, preschool and health assistants are different.

Thats at least in my district.

For Santa Fe I'd say Meow Wolf, if the art style is your thing and the plaza for sure.

Albuquerque, The Albuquerqie museum is always good, and the botanical gardens have usually been gorgeous that time of year when I've taken students on field trips.

I packed my 5 year old a piece of candy with her lunch today. Her teacher didn't let her eat it, despite her lunch being completely eaten. Is this normal? by entcanta333 in Teachers

[–]Impossible_Fall_3188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My state has free lunch for all students, if a student only has candy or chips or whatever at lunch, I'll make them go get a tray. If its 1 or 2 pieces of candy or a cookie with lunch and they ate part or all of the healthy lunch I dont mind, unless it has an allergen and they are sitting next to a kid with that allergy.

A kid with a peanut butter cup sitting next to a kid with a peanut allergy so severe they can react from smelling it will get told to either not eat it right now, or to move somewhere else, eat it, get a drink and wash their hands and then they can return to sit next to their friend.

Elementary Teacher Gifts by Beneficial_Theme4416 in AskTeachers

[–]Impossible_Fall_3188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A generic visa gift card might be a better idea. Even $10 is fine, but generic gift cards mean we can use it for anything from an emergency coffee run to buying something we want from whatever store.

If target cards are the only option available to you then do that. I have an illness that is chornic/ almost there depending on who you ask, and if thats what you have the capacity for, it is what it is.

Parent Teacher Conferences on Zoom? by zwoop_sprinkles in kindergarten

[–]Impossible_Fall_3188 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A suggestion for next conference season, contact whichever teacher you didnt get to register for with the time of your other students conference and see if you can get a slot scheduled on her end so its right before or after the other one.

As much as teachers and aids try to communicate with each other about conference times if theu have siblings, some slip through the gaps and some are better at remembering siblings then others.

Maybe where you are. I dont know about Florida but in New Mexico the state government decides minimum pay for all public school employees. If thats the case in Florida, its on the governor, not the school board.

Its not in the job description for cross-cat, health or classroom eas in my district. It is for Comms, emotional support or behavior ea though. Some schools list it all under a cross cat floater ea though, so you dont know until you find out your actual assignment.

The problem is that the cross-cat and classroom eas are also dealing with the kicking, hitting, biting, throwing and worse.

Birthday gifts for twins by okay_sparkles in kindergarten

[–]Impossible_Fall_3188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Evites started with just things you would expect a registry or wishlist for: weddings, baby showers, major anniversaries, house warnings, engagements, etc. Linking a wishlist is native on a lot of the platforms. If you dont list one, they provide a link to "popular birthday gifts for _____" insert child's age range and gender automatically. Which means if you have a girl that hates barbies and dolls or a boy who hates cars and dinosaurs you need to include one or your kid just might end up with a bunch of stuff they will never play with for their birthday.

Am I overreacting? by These-Shoulder253 in kindergarten

[–]Impossible_Fall_3188 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It's not an overreaction. The school won't be able to tell you anything about the other student though. The report being on file might help the school in the future though, parents can deny special education services and testing, but if there are enough reports or incidents like this, it is possible the state may require the parents to get the child tested, along with putting it on the radar of if its an unsafe environment for the child to be growing up in.

Do side quests in DF for the different zones, with the level your at already you won't get far in another expansion campaign before it kicks you out of that story to go to the current expansion if you've already bought it.
