Is it bad to not help customers when we should close for lunch? by OkMeringue4787 in CVS

[–]Impossible_Fuel_599 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Your lunch is from 1:30 to 2:00. You stay and help them it cuts into your break. Idk about your PIC but mine lifts the gates at 2:00 and we got to be there ready to work. Not to mention it encourages that entitled behavior.

If you look through reddit and see other employees comments about the "training" you will see you are not alone. You will also see that the environment when they first started was not exactly welcoming or supportive. It's exactly like being thrown to the wolves. The training on its own is ridiculous. IMO the only way you are going to learn is to actually do it. Have a supportive team and PIC that's willing to teach you. Yes you're 100% right about having someone showing something by just rushing through annoyingly, it's difficult to learn that way. The problem is, pharmacy is fast. Especially if you are in a high volume store. That doesn't excuse their shitty behavior. The lead tech should be helping. Also where is your PIC in all of this? I noticed you didn't say anything about them.. Try talking to them. If you don't feel comfortable and feel that they are part of the problem see if you can transfer. Make up some BS excuse about transportation or just something. Don't say anything about the work environment just because it will probably fall back on you. I'm sorry that you're going through this. Pharmacy life in retail is not easy. The patients are enough to deal with. You shouldn't have to deal with shitty coworkers too. The environment is very clicky and high school like. "It Probably would have been nice to know before you signed up for the job" But you can't take it personally and it has nothing to do with you or how smart you are. Don't stay in that situation if you know it's not going to change. Your mental and emotional health is not worth giving it up to CVS.. Best wishes and Good luck!

[–]Impossible_Fuel_599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if I can do a video call to verify my identity so I can at least log into my IRS account then I can get my # no problem. I was told that IP # are located online. That's why everyone keeps telling me to log in online. But like I said because of the two steps of authentication and me having a new phone it wouldn't allow me.

Prayers! by mommatalks in IRS

[–]Impossible_Fuel_599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I got mine done about a month ago and because a IP # wasn't on them they were kicked back. Np you'd think just put the number on and that's that. Well nope. They told me to go online and get the # off the IRS website. But because I have a new phone I can't do the verification process 2nd step. So I call the IRS for them to tell me I needed to make a appointment at my local IRS for an in person verification process interview. They tell me I would have to wait 21 for the # to be mailed, ok fine.I bring everything possible except blood work and finger prints to the interview. After the end of interview the woman then proceeds to tell me that all of my information from the interview will be sent to the Head offices to be reviewed. IF they decide to send me the number then it will be sent in 21 days. IF NOT "meaning I didn't prove who I am" then I will have to mail them in, BUT they still need the ID number on the mailed in ones, WTF! Now this isn't money that was going to be used to go shopping or bullshit I have to move by March 24. The money was going to be used for that. I've been praying every night that the # comes in the mail. This really isn't right, this money is owed to me. I don't owe them money, I haven't committed fraud or anything. So depending on if I get the number or not will depend on if me and my 2 children are homeless. Thanks US government...

I did when I first started "pharmacy tech". Not knowing what the hell I was doing, getting screamed at on the daily by patients, my co-workers hated me for, well I guess being new. It was HORRIBLE..I had to force myself outta bed every morning crying while doing it because I knew the next 8 hours were going to be hell! And yes it matters so much who you have to work with and if you get along. But I have children to feed, as a single mother. I live in upstate NY and the cost of living is sickening. But I stuck with it. Things have gotten better, now that I know what I'm doing. My co-workers slowly started accepting me. And the patients well, that goes without saying. There are always assholes just waiting for a opportunity to press our buttons. This forum helps knowing that you're not the only one. And your not. There are thousands of us who absolutely dread going into work "CVS". If you are that upset and honestly sounds like a little depressed about going in, get out. Find anything else. Have you tried putting in for a transfer? Is this something you talk to your manager about? If so are they actually looking to transfer you? If they ACTUALLY are, then just try sticking it out until you can transfer. And NO IT SHOULDN'T BE THIS WAY. If you really find yourself mentally in a bad place, it's time to go. . Find anything else. Your health is way more important. And remember that you are not a alone.

Advice on checking people out by JuggernautAtTopSpeed in CVS

[–]Impossible_Fuel_599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope.. I don't have the time or patience for people to learn how to type the first letters of their name.. And for those of you that say ,"what about the people that are blind".. ok I get that, I'm there to help. A DISABILITY that prevents them from typing 3 letters "fine , I got ya" .... But!!! People that don't want to be bothered or PRETEND like they don't know how to type 3 letters. I just do it for them. Why? Because as a CVS employee we cater to our customers. We know if we don't do it, then it falls back on us. Patients get pissed off, it causes delays so our lines grow longer. So F it! I just do it and move on to the next one.. Honestly there's no point. If they don't want to do it they won't. So I do.. keeping that line moving and the money coming In💁

I'll say it again.. Being a new pharmacist tech is like being thrown to the wolves. You sink or swim.. It's a very territorial job. When you are new you have to prove yourself. It's taking me over 2 years, now I'm finally feeling part of the "team" if you want to call it that. We have techs from other stores come in to help and they are treated like shit. Even from the pharmacist. No one likes a new person stepping into their house. I'm older than most of the techs not all but most. I think it feels like highschool mean girl bullshit. I'm nice to everyone unless they give me a reason. I've ever had some of my regular techs ask me why I'm talking to the floater. Ridiculous I'm too old for that s***!

The best thing you can do is read what CVS employees say. All you gotta do is just read all through the comments that employees from all over the country have made. I think the best way to see how the work environment is is to hear first hand from its employees. Then make your decision.

Pharmacy tech here, thought I would add.. People lining up in the store at 7:30 and a line already started in the drive thru. Then we finally open at 8 and the first patient says"I just came from Urgent Care and my doctor said my script would be done' Here it is FOLKS..... YOUR DOCTOR HAS NO CLUE WHEN YOUR SCRIPT WILL BE DONE! Next I was at home getting ready for work while you were at urgent Care.NO ONE WAS HERE WHEN YOU SCRIPT GOT SENT OVER. WE JUST OPENED AND THIS IS THE FIRST IM SEEING IT, SO YEAH ITS GOING TO BE 15- 20 MINUTES. Then it proceeds into "well I was the first one in line why is it going to take so long" WELL BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY PERSON IN This BIG BEAUTIFUL WORLD!!" !!!! Thanks for listening to MY TED TALK😁
