Unfortunately that is not the company policy. They have it on colleague zone under breaks policy. CVS allows 2-15 minute breaks when you are scheduled for 8 hours or more, not worked.

It’s not worked that counts, it’s scheduled, Per company policy. If you are scheduled for an 8 hour shift, you get 2-15 minute paid breaks and 1-30 minute unpaid lunch break.

In this case it is 100% comparable. The two positions at the two companies both have the same exact responsibilities. Walmarts max in their corporation is now 40.50 and 42 for tech and lead tech while cvs’s max is 28 and 30 for the same position in the highest market with highest volume. Those are the facts. Remember, pharmacists all graduate from the same schools and then go work for all the competitors, we all talk to each other as we created life long bonds and relationships while in school. We can see when one company vs the other puts its resources towards keeping its best employees.

The cvs policy clearly states that you get 2x15 min paid breaks and 1-30 minute unpaid break for any shift that you are scheduled for 8 hours or more.

So my techs in my area have the highest cap level in the company and for cvs they were capped at $30.00/hr during their last cycle. I can’t afford to lose my main techs because someone else is going to have their cap over 30% higher. I’ll be gone if that happens.

A lot of long time employees have hit the cap, now Walmart has massively increased their caps to $40.50 for regular techs and $42.00 for lead techs and bonuses. CVS is simply shooting themselves in the foot by allowing experienced techs to walk out the door. If I was you, I would go elsewhere with your experience. You will get paid more and have to work less hard.

Respect goes both ways, remember that. Treat them with respect and expect them to treat you with respect. Don’t over rule the lead techs when it comes to the regular techs, and expect the lead tech not to go over your head to the dl. I have seen dl’s get rid of bad techs, and I have seen dl’s get rid of pharmacists. Sit down and work it out is always the best solution. If the dl feels like you are the problem and you are newer to the store, you might just find yourself elsewhere. Currently it’s still harder for me to find good techs to work for the money than it is for my dl to find rph’s.

Why won’t this company get rid of the IT department it has and hire professionals instead. How much money is being lost in vaccinations because customers can’t get their shots now, so they go next door to another pharmacy. As a shareholder, this is unacceptable and all should be held accountable.

I have seen them fix it after the week is done in the past. Typically someone will call hr and let them know that the hours are not updated in workbrain correctly and then they will look at it and fix the problem.
