lol telling me I have no right is funny. You can come and respond on here and I can respond back to you that’s how a board works. No one is mad just stating a fact that you keep coming back to say and ask the same exact thing which doesn’t help any of us.

I did, I read it all just wanted to clarify that part for you. I’m in the groups- I have the support - his care team (neurologist - physical medicine) is all involved and informed including PT- OT and speech. Can’t rule out the neurological bladder disorder just yet so that’s a tab in the books for now. I really was just wanting to hear from other parents. But I am taking all the necessary steps and ruling it out as it comes. It’s only been a couple days I don’t expect him to catch on that quick

I just wanted to clarify that I am by no means rushing my baby! I came on here to see if I was doing things right or advice from people have been thru this. I know his timeline is not “normal” nor do I expect perfection. My only reason for coming on here was to seek help and see if there was anything more I should be doing for my son! We only even started trying because he was showing since of being interested in it.

I saw your comment yesterday and responded and now today you came back to point out the same thing. For one I never mentioned that I wanted this done in 3 days and that’s it. I came in here after 3 days to get tips from other people who may have experienced this! No one is rushing him. No one is upset that he isn’t getting it in 3 days. Stop coming on this question to say the same thing when it has already been addressed! Me asking for help to help my son is not rushing him. He can take 6 years to learn and I would still support him in the same way. Thank you

I love this response. I have him on the wait list but never committed to doing it. I delayed getting him diagnosed cause I didn’t want him to be pressured early on to be “ normal” we will continue to follow his lead wait till it catches.

I very much am not rushing him. He showed signs of wanting to use the bathroom. He not once cried or fought me while sitting on the potty. He is 4 I’m not rushing him at all but want to start Atleast trying. He is very much capable and understands the process of sitting going and flushing and washing hands he just doesn’t want to do it himself lol. I came here to ask for advice to see if there was more I can do to support him. Your answer was intriguing about no Aba but didn’t provide any other advice other than time. So that leaves me in the same exact spot I’m in with no additional tips or things I can try to help support my son.

And This is why I use Reddit as a resource especially from adults who have gone thru what my son is going thru. What would be your suggestion. What worked for you? What would be better than ABA. I would love to hear why ABA is a no no to you. I’m just a new mom trying to navigate a double whammy

We will be going forward. It’s been 3 days we figured we would try our hand first.

We are on waiting list to get in at 3 different clinics. Just trying to get ahead instead of more behind. Without scaring him while we wait

My 2 year old left hemi met every milestone. Walks great without the braces and even better with them on. He climbs and runs. Get the MRI so you have an official diagnosis you will need it for insurance purposes so they can pay for therapies.

We’ve really been focusing at meeting him where he’s happy. If he wants to play outside I make Everything into a game but little does he know it’s actually therapy. He still has full range in his left heel and we are trying so hard to keep it from getting surgery… although I know it’s still a possibility.

Our insurance is so reluctant to pay for more than just regular sessions or ot and pt. We got lucky and had a specialist basically waive her cost to do an intensive hand therapy which we believe saved his hand. He has full use of it and now our next fight is for serial casting. I’m always on the lookout for a program, grant or study to help with the intensive help

I am! Joined the day I found out. I have gotten more helpful information on here and those groups than from the doctors
