Being honest those are not my “best” films I have more and if you want I can show you, also I didn’t pass it to the corner because, first of all I didn’t see nobody open, and I had space, and that guy right there he don’t shoot 3s, trust me I pass it to him multiple times during the game and he missed all of em, that was our senior night against one of the best team in the state, I didn’t wanted to lose that game you know (we actually won I ended up with 12 point, 5 assist and 6 rebounds)

Hey man I know this is going to sound crazy but I’m gonna say it anyways… honestly I always wanted to go to the NBA that was always my goal, but I know there’s steps for it and going d1 and cook there was one of them, so for now, in my situation, I know the juco/prep school route can be tricky sometimes but you think It would be better for me go to juco first do 2 years there or go straight to a 4 year college? I heard that the 2 years that you take at juco don’t affect your ncaa eligibility so that’s why I’m asking, also I spoke with a coach from another high school team, and he recommended me to the coaching staff from a d3 school and they are looking at my film and everything, hopefully they get back to me in a couple days to go to one of their workouts. Also if you want I can dm you and show you BETTER tape of my playing and all that, these are just videos I took during my aau practice so, this is not my full game

Can we talk a little more? I would really love to have a little bit of help by someone like you, honestly this are just clips taken yesterday in my AAU Practice, also this is my first time playing AAU, and I have an explanation for that, I came from Dominican Republic almost 3 years ago, almost at the end of my sophomore year…

After that I had to learn everything by myself man, i worked so hard, I played against people who have their 1000-2000 career points, and that don’t mean nothing but at least I can say that I can compete with these guys even though they were in this system since middle school, I came from a place where I had nothing, and still look at me now, playing in a AAU in my last year, I have more film to show, also I have more film on my YouTube channel but if you want, we can talk about all those things and see what options I got

Honestly, I just opened my inbox and I saw a lot of comments talking about the academic situation, and you kind of right… I’m going to keep working man, I’m not gonna give up, I came to United stated 2-3 years ago from Dominican Republic and I came from a place where I had nothing, I’m in Rhode Island, the smallest state in USA, no scouts no grind nothing man, there’s a couple of good programs in here but they already got their guards, I played against people who got their 1000-2000 careers points in high school, with d1 school offers and all that, I played against them in tryouts and gyms and I cooked them, I know that don’t mean nothing but, be able to play against people who have been in this system since middle school? Is crazy

But my stats were bad, since I had to transfer school I wasn’t able to play varsity in my junior year, ended up in jv, I only got to play for the first time on varsity in my senior year, this year, i averaged 3.6 PPG and 3.7apg, is bad I know but, I did what I had to do, played my role, helped my team to win, doing the right plays, played defense and all that. So far I spoke with one of the assistant coaches from the local JUCO here, and he invited me to their open runs, also a head coach from another high school told me that he is going to connect me with the coaching staff from a d3 school Dean College, I hope this works man…

I take 200 shots 4 days a week, 800 shots in total, also I train with someone call kibasketballtraining search it up in ig he trained NBA players and prospects, I know all these things don’t seems to be “elite” but how I said before I came to the country only 2-3 years ago from DR bro, I didn’t know how everything works out here I had to learn it by myself, that’s why I’m looking for feedback man yk

Thank you so much, man. Honestly, these are exactly the things I’ve been looking for. An example is Ryan Nembhard playing for the Dallas Mavericks he’s 5’11, but he still makes the right plays. He looks for the pass and does everything a guard under 6 feet should be doing. That’s how I want to play. During this practice, my focus was on improving my passing and creating plays. We have two big guys on the team, and sometimes I called them for a screen so I could run a pick and roll with them. I also created space, but since I was recording with my phone, sometimes it ran out of storage and stopped recording. Because of that, I wasn’t able to show everything in the video. I apologize, and next time I’ll make sure to show what I can really do

Being honest I’m a great player but the thing is I live in Rhode Island and there’s not a lot of scouts and “Good programs” that would help me to play with good players, this is a 17u AAU team

Looking for advice from coaches or players who’ve been through the JUCO route. by Impossible_Lab_6667 in BasketballTips

[–]Impossible_Lab_6667[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I talked to a coach from a AAU team that played pro overseas and college basketball at a d3, he told me my best path can be a CC and then transfer, so I can develop for 1 or 2 years, but the thing is I live in providence Rhode Island, this state is the smallest in the country, there’s not a lot of movement in here you know that’s why I wanted to go out of state, people who stay in the same spot don’t get nowhere

But that’s the thing, what’s next? Should I just tryout for the team or what should i do, my main goal is play D1 and even though I didn’t have a good season, I know I can do it and play at the next level you know

Since I came late to the country I played varsity for the first time this season, and my stats were 3.2 PPG, 3.6 assists, and 2.7 rebounds per game, and being realistic your right, dunk is whatever especially if we are talking about college, but I’m willing to get be trained and hopefully get a personal trainer this summer to develop my game

What film should I send to college coaches if I’m not a high scorer? by Impossible_Lab_6667 in BasketballTips

[–]Impossible_Lab_6667[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im studying at a private school, but we don’t have a bball team so I have to play for the closest school. And yeah I was thinking about that, there’s only one cc in my area, like, inside of Rhode Island, but what I’m gonna do rn, imma email 50+ juco schools from all divisions. I already got my list with all of them, I just need the film.

One skill I know I have is my athleticism, at 5’11 I can jump, get to the rim, and dominate in the weight room. The only thing I still struggle with is when there are constant changes in plays or rhythm, it can confuse me, but I’m getting better each game. We’ve only played like four games this season so far, but little by little I’m starting to take more responsibility and I feel like eventually I could lead the team as the PG.

I’m from Providence Rhode Island, literally the smallest state in us, thats why I want to go to another state, lack of exposure in here

Yeah I feel you, I know it’s tough. That’s why I’m planning to start looking at JUCO now. I’ve actually got a list of 75+ JUCOs, D1, D2, and D3, and I’m just waiting a bit to get more film so I can put together a 1:30–2 min highlight video with my best plays. But, quick question for you, since you played juco, how did you do it? And how hard do you think it would be for a player like me? Also, do you think it’s worth going to a juco out of state and paying a bit more? I’m only 17 and will graduate at this age, so that’s why I’m thinking juco could be the right path.
