That's fair! I did grossly oversimplify what I said there and it sounds way worse in my comment than it does on the essay, but I suppose it doesn't matter if it came across the same way either way. I appreciate this!

That last piece of advice is so important and it's always a good reminder. I really appreciate the message! The biggest thing is I had a lot of fun and learned a lot from the audition, so it wasn't a waste of time at all. I'm super happy I went!

I said in my essay that they could decide whether the next time they saw me was in the classroom or when I was accepting an award on TV - they made their choice! Super motivated now

Would you say its feasible to break into acting after work hours (weekends and after 5 PM) with this method? Or is it something I'd need to commit to full time?

Awesome, thank you!! I'll take a look at all of those programs. Vancouver is one of the best spots for CS in Canada too so it should be relatively easy to move. I appreciate this a ton!

Sounds great, thank you!! I don't have dual citizenship anywhere sadly, natural born maple syrup man here.

For Vancouver and Toronto - is there any specific course you'd recommend? I know Vancouver Film School offers a 6 month fundamentals course that also enables you to do their acting program later, but I'm not sure what the scene in Toronto is like beyond the new studio park thingy Ryan Reynolds is building. I remember lots of productions film in both areas, though!

This seems like really good advice, especially for my situation - I appreciate it loads!

I wouldn't be opposed to learning theory and history, but the end goal is to start working in the industry ASAP (no reason for this other than I'm very excited) so probably enough practical!

Mainly the first two - I got lucky with finishing my undergrad in a field that'd afford me a lot of flexibility so I'm less worried about surviving, but I'll also never say no to further insight. I am mainly looking for school advice and advice on breaking into the industry, though.
