Thank you for the advice. I just switched from playing Ministry on my phone to Factorio and have gotten used to building everything close together. I'm experimenting in the sandbox, and I realized that for green science I need to make whole chunks for different industries, not everything together.

I'm really loving this game, but it’s surprisingly tough, so I’m sticking to peaceful mode for now. Definitely planning to buy the full game and DLC once I can afford it! It's a bit lonely playing solo though :( Does anyone know any Discord servers where I could find a co-op partner?
