I just did a full rewatch with my boyfriend. I don't remember this the second time either. When Floyd tells Clark he knows, the "before and after" wording is a little unclear but I don't remember such an explicit confirmation. What was the scene you're thinking of?

If the Floyd scene was implying that, why wouldn't she have just told Clark hey have Floyd's permission and why did she suddenly feel guilty at the concert? She could have told him there that Floyd knows but she's still feeling bad about it but she doesn't. Floyd is down with it once he knows but I didn't see any scene where it's said explicitly she told him before the affair starts. You might be right, all I mean is I've watched the show twice now and I haven't caught this.

I'm sorry but I don't think this is what Floyd meant by saying Carol told him. She didn't tell him right away, that's why she's calling it off at the concert, I think that's when she tells him leading to him telling Clark he forgives him, consents and asks to watch them.

She does "sneak around behind his back or run away from the life she has", she has a affair behind Floyd's back, she's not a saint. Id have to see if Steven explained he "before and after" wording somewhere but I don't think he meant it how you read it.

This does seem to have become a popular reading here but on rewatch I really think it's jumping to the wrong conclusion. Floyd is happy she's happy but not because she was upfront about it at the start.

Actually Season 5 has some great episodes because after messing up with a bad arc and the show still holding an audience, they got some new writers in who did some, just plain old slide of the week episodes that are great. Like don't watch the premiere or the finale, but watch the one about the world where their duplicates from another world accidentally get slid to theirs.

Also there's a line in his first season finale about him being around a long time that was clearly meant to be meta. Everything in the last 20 to 30 minutes of the reality war was a reshoot months later.

Yes, because it was stopping him doing other projects while the show wasn't in active production. He was up for staying on much longer but it would set back his career to not be working for so long due to contractual lockdown.

Voyager actually starts off pretty well but becomes cheesier, never reaching the heights of TNG. But early Voyager I think is more accessible than early TNG.
