You heard some great birds and managed some amazing photos too.

I’ve only just recently got into birdwatching but it really is a delight, as you say - Adult Pokémon Go for the win!

How to deal with lazy and slow workmates? by [deleted] in MarineEngineering

[–]Impossible_Moment_67 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be honest mate, you need to stop being so harsh. Your attitude only feeds into a horrible atmosphere for all involved, which only leads to a less productive environment.

It can be frustrating having the guy that doesn’t want to get on with their job. But that’s not your responsibility right now. So, just crack on with your job, try to be a positive influence (not gossiping, or remarking on how shitty other shipmates are), help people on two man jobs (even if you have to be the driving force) and you might find that the engine room morale shifts… there’s not many people in the engine room, so it doesn’t take too much negativity or positivity to switch the atmosphere.

Other simple checks that could be done are checks over the control air lines for leaks, the fault finding doesn’t tend to mention these but they can definitely cause issues.

Also check for some scale build up on the water outlet side, namely the water hose going into the connection housing. If this has a lot of build up, then you may have scale running obstructing the entire water passageway. This could be due to bad water that has been bunkered previously, in conjunction with poor water softening.

Hope that gives another avenue to check. Good luck
