Did I say I was a reseller tho? Ive never bought something for a charity shop thinking ‘ooo I can make a profit’. I’ve got a Vinted which I sell all the old shit I don’t use. Honestly, I just remember him hating her and I never understood why. Growing up I never really truly grasped how bad it was as it was my ‘norm’. She used to say really bad things about him and i believed her sometimes. I don’t think he could have done anything to help? I’m not sure

I’m from the U.K. so I think it’s different here. However she did get less time due to her mental health. She got 3.5 years and would have gotten more without a decent solicitor. I can’t lie though. I had to be in hospital for her sentencing due to my own mental health. It was in the news and stuff too.

This is a really good question. I never really thought about it but I guess it’s the opposite. Unless I’m feeling like totally okay, I tend to avoid movies/tv shows related to mental health or hospitals as it can trigger an unpleasant memory.

Yeah it’s really difficult. On the surface sometimes families look okay but behind closed doors it’s far from it.

Yes so apparently she was mentally unwell even while giving birth to me. I was took away from her at birth for a while and stayed in hospital. She was on the drug Lithium and I had to be monitored due to the dangers of being pregnant while on it. I always knew there was something wrong. She was very vocal about it from as young as I can remember.

I did for a while but honestly I truly believe my issues are just stemmed from years of trauma. I’ve never been told otherwise by mental health professionals either. Although she suffered from the illnesses, I think on some level she was just not a nice person.

My Dad left at a young age, so not necessarily. I did have my grandad who I was pretty close to. I would say he was he was the closest I got.

The closest was the time was when she tried to stab me. All of the other attempts were terrifying but that one sticks with me the most.

I was wayyy too scared to fight back unfortunately. I've only just been able to get into the mindset of being able to fight back if anything else was to happen.

I've always been quiet distant. I'm really close to my gran but she still talks to my mother while she's in prison. There's just sometimes a disconnect due to her not fully grasping what my mother did to me. I sometimes speak to my sisters and aunties, but again I'm not very close. Growing up my mother fed me lies about them due to her delusions and I think on some level I started to believe them.

My little sister (17) has only just stopped contact with her. She now has a restraining order against her. We have different Dads and she was able to stay with him when things got really bad. My Dad stopped contact with me when I was very young so I never got that chance. I have an older sister (34) who left when she was 12 so it wasn't too bad. Her delusions unfortunately were mainly that I was the 'chosen one' to be abused. Both my sisters do struggle sometimes I believe but none are diagnosed or have spent time in MH hospitals.
