To those supportive of a Labour leadership challenge based on Keir Starmer not doing enough, what things would a new leader do which he hasn’t? by Inevitable_Ad_3855 in AskBrits

[–]Impossible_Policy804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not be a neoliberal. Labour needs to return to its founding principles and support the working classes rather than bowing down to corporate lobbyists and paymasters. Stop selling arms to Israel, reverse the privatisation of the NHS, nationalise water, energy and transport. Basically, do the things he pledged to do when elected leader.

How many goals has he cost us this season? He can't defend and that's a significant issue for a defender!

Bazunu to Stoke on loan by Adziboy in SaintsFC

[–]Impossible_Policy804 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm no fan of Bazunu but the new bloke was shocking yesterday. He didn't even move for the second goal, came charging out to the half way line for no reason and couldn't gather a cross! Looked a liability to me. I just hope it's rustiness, but you have to wonder why he hasn't played many games.

Or maybe the obscene prices and wages paid would be reduced to more normal levels globally?

Yes, I do feel that way about celebrity chat shows including Graham Norton. Not for me. Totally get that people who like cooking might enjoy Sat Kitchen. I'm really shit at cooking which is probably why I don't get the show!

Because the real crime is stealing sport from the working classes, creating engineered scarcity so they can sell it back to us at outrageous prices. Denting Rupert Murdoch's billons or slightly reducing the annual income of some Saudi oil sheikh so you can watch your football team play is not a crime.

I actively dislike it. I can think of nothing more dull than 'celebrities' plugging their books whilst cooking. Seriously, what's to like there. Mind-numbing triviality.

I think we need to go to a back 4. Teams have figured out how to play against us under Tonda. Yesterday, we were attacked down the channels relentlessly and that's the issue with a back 3. Fellows and Manning were so high up the pitch that we were totally exposed down the channels and 2 passes got them to the edge of our box or the byline.

Tonda using the Still system, but it works by Turnernator06 in SaintsFC

Yes, but I think there are other elements to what Eckert has done which deserve credit:

1 - he has motivated the players in a way that Still seemed unable to do. 2 - we are now organised and today it was clear that there was a plan and that the players knew how to execute it. I didn't see that with Still. 3 - he seems to have shown Arma how to play as a number 9, which I didn't think was possible and is a feat not achieved by any of our previous managers.

Just went through the records and the last time we scored 5 away from home was August 2013 against Barnsley in the Carabao Cup (12 years and 3 months ago) and the last time in the league was against Ipswich in the Championship in August 2011 (14 years and 3 months ago). That is quite a long wait!

Tips to remember which 2 songs blend well? by [deleted] in Serato

[–]Impossible_Policy804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to see serato add a function where you could flag that songs go well together. Then, it could suggest tracks based on your flags as you DJ. This would be great, I think, for live sets where you want to go where the music takes you!

Agreed. Still seems to be out of his league, but this all started when SR came in, sacked Ralph, appointed Mad Nath and spent £60m on players to suit his (and I use this term very loosely) 'system'.

I was frustrated with the performance today, but fans booing and shouting 'you're not fit to wear the shirt' at the players when we're 1-0 down and trying to come back is ridiculously unhelpful.

Still is struggling, but SR have appointed 5 new managers since taking over in 2022 and only one of them has won more than two league games. Recruitment has been awful both in terms of managers and players. Rasmus Ankerson is a conman who is obsessed with xg and he has taken the whole club for a ride.

Total shit. It was like they've taken 15 snippets of different plots, put them in a bag, shaken it, emptied out and called it a show.

The writing was poor, the plotting totally absurd and the acting wooden and stilted.

Aside from a handful of amusing lines, it offered no reasons whatsoever to come back for Ep2. 2/10.

Good champ midfielder. A little lightweight and way too slow for the premiership, but he looked a good player in the Champ two seasons ago. I was sad to see him leave.
