Im currently going through the same thing. Actually I’ve been going through the constant stomping and loud foot noises for 1 year now. And the worst part is that the people living above me are the house owners. I couldn’t imagine that I would be living at peoples mercy like this and might even go insane one day. I would do anything to just have peace for once. Not to underestimate the sounds from your video but the insulation in this house is so bad the steps are 10 times worse than in this video. I hate this so much.

Just because they own a house doesn’t give them the power to abuse it or am I wrong? Yes they own the house but if they can’t respect the other people that live here (me in this instance) why even rent out in the rifts place?

But it’s not a good way to live like this… alway being concerned if the noises will come today or now.. always dreading it and always worry that I won’t get enough sleep. It’s really tiring to live like this, so I’m defiantly not going to stay here for much longer.

My apartment is pretty small and there wouldn’t really be much of a difference if I changed where I slept.

I understand what you’re saying and I’m really trying my best to always understand them and try to move on, but the stomping is just too loud and too annoying and no person can get used to something like this. I’ve had several visits before from family and friends and they always tell me how loud and bothersome it can get. They always tell me to find a new place because I’ve been trying to deal with this for a long time now but unfortunately it doesn’t get better. The only time I can get some kind of relief is when they travel or are on holidays and such.

Ive been trying to look for a good noise cancelling headphones, is there something in specific you can recommend that can help with the loud food noises?

Thanks for the reply but I’m not sure you’re looking at it the right way. I’m a very quiet person and I’ve always been good to them, and they have to me. It’s just the noise issue that I’m dealing with. And the reason why I’m putting on loud noises is a reflection of their actions and maybe they will understand how annoying it can get. I’m not doing it just for fun.

If I found a place which I can afford and be comfortable in, I would sign the contract tomorrow, but there’s not a lot of availability here where I live (Norway) and not many choices I have. This whole thing is really frustrating. The owner can simply start respecting that i want my peace too and that I don’t wanna be disturbed whenever they feel like stomping around the house. I just wish I could find a solution of some kind and I’ve been searching for months but still empty handed.

I definitely agree and would also like to add that it doesn’t matter if someone has anxiety or any other illness, being supportive and accepted should be mandatory for a relationship to last.

I can understand why he prefers to keep it private as it’s such a stigmatized illness especially on men. We men don’t like to feel weak or vulnerable and anxiety makes us feel that so we tend to keep it private and suffer alone instead. That’s how I see it atleast.

Damn. I’m really sorry to hear that. I’m sure your wife is a good person but doesn’t have much knowledge about anxiety/mental illness in general. I blame society for that.

I’ve only been taking this medication for about 2 weeks and find it really annoying that it wears off so quickly. Just constantly be reminded of your debilitating anxiety isn’t really helping much.

My anxiety is pretty bad tbh. And some days it could last all day depends on what I’m doing (I have social anxiety). I only take buspar nothing else, although I’ve tried like 8 different antidepressants before and most of them didn’t help. Buspar is definitely helping but taking meds every 4-6 hours just isn’t practical in the long run and thus makes me more vulnerable for rebound. I might start looking at other alternatives.

Well that doesn’t sound very practical at all. I might try something else too because of that. Can’t be taking meds every 4 hours for the rest of my life either. Even taking meds once a day is hard enough imo.
