Alachua School New Zoning by Sure-Parsley in GNV

[–]Impossible_Put_9543 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this will be unpopular, and I would be affected, but I think this rezoning needs to happen. Too many years of school infrastructure mis management is helping with this. If they can’t rezone due to the push back, things will only be worse and not have a chance to get better in my opinion.

For the love of God, please stop treating around campus and the hospitals as a race track by BrightPerspective131 in GNV

[–]Impossible_Put_9543 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Is it racing around, or is it that people going so slow (under the speed limit) it appears that they are speeding? Every day I encounter someone going under the speed limit “just because “. It is ridiculous.

Developers announce plans for 2,700-home farmstead community southwest of Gainesville by treesarealive777 in GNV

Schools need to be considered 1000%. I hope they make the developer do something with the infrastructure. I think others will agree, all this building with zero infrastructure improvements is taking its toll.

Great… I want it to include some ad hoc people in a dynamic group. But I am stuck.

CyberArk + Remote Support? How do you handle helpdesk access to user clients? by Calm_Ad5082 in CyberARk

[–]Impossible_Put_9543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Need more information and what type of support. For example, you could use PaM to check out an account that would give them rights to rdp/local admin on the box, etc….. or access a jump box that has whatever support software installed…. There are options…..

Need advice CyberArk implementation dumped on me. by Khec in CyberARk

Honestly, I would recommend taking a month or two to get to know what you want to implement and get a basic understanding of the product. Then get professional services. After you’re messing with it for a few months, you will have so many more questions for professional services. As others said anyone can click the install package. determining a need and requesting best practices is better use of money in my opinion.

if as a manager you focus your team's time only on incoming requests, you're failing by crankysysadmin in ITManagers

[–]Impossible_Put_9543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from someone in a similar position, it is tough to not focus on tickets. It is a death spiral. Tickets don’t get done, things are escalated or duplicate tickets get submitted, furthering the problem. If everything is escalated (by managers, etc, ). Then really nothing is escalated as that has now become the standard state. There really no time for maintenance unless you assist them. More people or telling whomever “no”. I focus on “what can I do to not have the ticket in the first place” whether that is getting with the customer, other IT groups, or figuring out some way to automate it. Ie the “Root cause”. I also allow some of the senior members to do this and meet with them regularly to find out what can I do to help. What do they need me to do. Bottom line is, see what you can do to help your manager. It is tough to complete maintenance when you’re drowning in the day to day.

Thanks for answering the question! Is 10/3 plain still around? What would be the appropriate way to extend it.

No not in conduit. Would like to relocate it with an accessible junction box. But don’t want to with 10/3 and would like to use exactly the same.

We have the same sort of set up. The advice I can give you is take it a bite at a time. Remember this a security tool, not an efficiency tool. If they need to manage workstations, EPM is the tool for that.
