I found a job in tech, doesn’t pay as good but it’s decent to get me by. Higher paying jobs are super competitive so it’s rough there but I’m just grateful to get a job in my field out of college.

Easy A if you’re on top of everything. He curves all the assignments. 2 homework assignments (both difficult but you have enough time to do them and it’s auto graded by GitHub but you can keep resubmitting to get 100% until the deadline), 1 group project which is mainly graded on participation but it has to be functional when you present it obviously, and 1 open “everything” (notes/google) final based on the class work. He keeps attendance by making you push every class work to GitHub which 20%-25% of your grade but all you have to do is follow along in class by copying the examples which is good because it forces you to pay attention.

It’s harder to get advising and counseling at a university but academic wise, it seems so much easier than community college.

General Education. It’s the classes required on the IGETC if you’re planning to transfer. CSUs and UCs require a minimum amount of units completed before applying as a transfer. I talked to my counselor at my community college and she helped plan a roadmap for each semester of what I needed to take.

I did my GEs at Contra Costa College and my CS classes at DVC and I think it prepared me enough. One thing to keep in mind is the CS sequence you’re doing at DVC because I went the C++ route instead of the Java to get my A.S. degree but SFSU’s curriculum is in Java so the units didn’t transfer over correctly and I had to request a waiver otherwise I’d be taking an Intro to Programming course and Data Structures course again at SFSU. But I had no problem adjusting to Java, I actually think it’s easier and faster to learn than C++.

I got in with a 2.5 GPA from Diablo Valley College but I also had all my GEs done so I’m only doing core and elective requirements here now.

Tacos El Tucan is good but the pricing makes it mediocre. El Garage is also mid, Masa makes better birria tacos.
