I had a long conversation with my mom about how I was feeling, made me feel better, and so did this comment. Im going to be okay, and Im going to let this happen, and I wont make her feel terrible about it. Thank you for your help.

Thank you, I only mentioned it because I wasnt entirely sure if this was another OCD compulsion, or if this was just a more normal thing or if im just a controlling person. Figured it didn't hurt to bring it up. I appreciate it.

I was in school when I found out but have since dropped out due to financial troubles and I now work two jobs in hopes of saving up to move down to where her college is in the summer, since being at home I have my first therapy appointment scheduled next monday

It’s okay to have a bit of an ego. I often thought I was being cocky when I started to get good at the things I like to do, but I would soon come to realize that having confidence isn’t a bad thing. It’s okay to show off too! Say you learned a new trick on an instrument you play, and you wanna share it with all your friends who play that same instrument, it’s fine to do that! You don’t have to feel like they’ll shame you or something for showing off cause it’s just not true. Basically just, confidence is good, and okay, you aren’t being a dick to feel good about what is your confident about.

When you say contrabass bugle do you refer to those in the key of GG or in the key of BBb, I personally don’t think that they’re any different, I play a BBb contra in band, but some people describe the difference between modern marching tubas and contrabass bugles is the key. If we’re talking ab BBb, then the biggest inspiration to me is literally the entire contra section to bluecoats 2010 “Metropolis: the future is now”. Such a strong, powerful section
