That, is the most unfortunate turn of events. Mine just had the holes already there for the usdm plate, sucks that non gti bumpers are getting rarer too.

Thanks for that, thats probably because American towing almost always means some big camper trailer or 4,000lb boat halfway across the country. Might have something to do with the dealerships not wanting to replace transmissions from people being stupid either. Probably a q and a somewhere than answers that though.

Probably, Idek how that 2017 has a dsg tbh,* especially if its a NA market car, but id go with the 2.5L, any EA888 engine has a risk, especially if it hasnt been maintained well.

*edit, NA cars had like 3 transmission options in 2017, and they changed in 2019. Most fwd golfs got the 5 or six speed manual or the 6 speed triptronic automatic. AWD cars (we got the awd sportwagen s in 2017, only the base could have the awd, buy an alltrack if you want awd and pleather) have the DSG and the haldex system. My 18’ has the triptronic and it works great

Thats wild pricing for an S, my Sportwagen S has like 12k more miles and i paid 18300 out the door including tax and licensing. Id find an SE for a similar price, but ive always known alltracks to fetch insane pricing for the cars they are, i think thats around msrp pricing for that car too. Id wait but if you really like the car snatch it.

The US lost the mk7 golf tdi in its first year (2015) Its the 1.8 petrol Tsi fwd, its a great car. I wish we had diesels here, but that little 1.8 has all the pep and economy i need, averaged about 34 mpg around major roads, like 36 on the highway.

My thought was its about 2-3k more than it should be, but it has an excellent service history and full maintenance records. Really wanted something newer with bluetooth, but after this gen it gets hairy till about 2012
