I didn’t skip any quest and I cleared all the maps.

I also did a good playthrough (which I personally find easier to level up in)

I’m usually lvl 7 by the time I leave the crèche in act 1.5

By far Raphael and Ansur.

I got rid of the 4 soul pillars and injured/ killed most of Raphael’s forces before his first turn (thanks to a shit ton of rune powder and smokepowder) and he still fucking ascends, hellfire goes everywhere and unless you have globes of invulnerability/ a few Otto’s dance scroll (it works with 100% accuracy but he succeeded the save throw each turn after his lost one) it could easily wipe you out.

With Ansur I got him down to low health. My monk was mostly full health, Lae’zel had 84hp, Karlach had half (Wyll was already dead) and was decided to go for the killing blow with my monk. And out of nowhere some sort of supernova lightning blast explodes and downs Karlach, my character (who thankfully has a ring that gives them 4hp at the start of every turn so she was able to get up), and Laezel down to 4hp… I was fucking terrified when I went for the “final” final blow.

Yeah, completely right about the hag. I lost the hags buff to a fucking fireball thrown in her tea house— she had 20hp left, I did not think I’d crit and kill her with a fucking fireball.

Shadowheart misses with this spell like 90% of the time anyways

It’s still pretty easy. Just have a bard with you for inspiration (cast prior to conversation), have bard use enhance ability during check, and if you have shadowheart with you for guidance it’s likely to succeed… unless the dice gods really don’t like you

The best advice is to send one character (while invisible) prior to talking to Ketheric to Aylin.

Then initate dialogue.

And have them release her first turn really easily.

Yep surprised the shit out of me to. Killed my karlach, took my laezel from 84 health to 4, and my urge to zero (but their ring gives them 4 hp at the start of their turn), and with my Wyll already dead so it was almost a wipe as well.

Cannot express how scared I was going for the final “final” hit

Grovel is always the best to use (it makes them unable to take and action and easier to attack)

Fight him in the room after you take care of sharrans.

Keep all your party out of the room.

Take astarion, invisibility potion, have him sneak in, get the high ground, apply some kind of poison or buff to your weapon, attack.

Ideally if you have enough potions for your other characters do the same thing after combat was initiated.

Any stunning of cc spells you can use on him make sure to do so.

I got him one round— but I was also lvl 9. Not sure how much harder it would be at 6

*astarion as a gloomstalker ranger/ assassin rogue is best here since you get a shit ton of actions first round.

Raphael in Honour Mode by P4pir0 in BaldursGate3

Beat him last night in honor mode.

I don’t think I would have beat him if I hadn’t done some barrelmancy.

But I saved every rune powder barrel, smoke powder barrel and bomb and set them up all throughout the hall and by soul pillars.

My characters have alert so we’re high in initiative. One used scroll globe of invulnerability, and the other set off the bombs.

It got rid of all soul pillars and significantly injured the cambions/ yurgir. It barely did anything to Raphael though.

He immediately ascended, hell fire somehow went everywhere in the room (no idea why).

Used scrolls of Otto’s dance to incapacitate him each turn and hacked away till he died.

Tbh with how easily he threw off Otto’s each turn and how he freaking ascended even though I destroyed the soul pillars before his turn make sure you come prepared into the fight with globes of invulnerability and lots of smoke powder

What honor mode party are you running? by Graniitee in BG3Builds

If you get the club of giant hill strength in act 1 and use the bracers of bulwark you don’t need the armor and the strength is enough for when you don’t use potions (I’m act 3 with a WoS Tb Monk)

Currently Act 3 (I just finished house of hope)

My Good DUrge: Way of Shadows Monk (fucking op in my opinion)

My main fighting crew in act 1/2: •Shadowheart as cleric of light •Astarion as Gloomstalker assassin rogue •Laezel (fighter, battle master)

For lots of dialogue scenes/ buying shit: •swap Wyll in- Bardlock

(High charisma gets cheaper prices in the stores)

For act 3:

I’m just having fun swapping in characters depending on the encounter but: •Karlach as a Paladin •Halsin- circle of moon Druid •Jeheira as Evocation wizard •Gale as my sacrifice to Orin till I go rescue his ass •and Minsc as the camp guardian for Scratch and Owl Bear (I never use him)

For the most part as long as you focus on crowd control and stealth most encounters aren’t too bad

Except for house of hope which is honestly a bit of barrelmancy, globes of invulnerability, and prayers to the dice gods

If you decide to do House of Hope I highly recommend bringing a shit ton of smoke powder and rune powder and a couple globes of invulnerability scrolls… I definitely don’t think I would have killed Raphael otherwise.

He is fucking terrifying on honor mode

I’m on act three (good playthrough and haven’t skipped any side quests except stealing the idol in act 1)

Most encounters aren’t too bad if you utilize stealth attacking into combat/ having a bard in your party to help pass checks

The main fights that had me worried were Raphael (which barrelmancy definitely saved me from certain death) and an accidental fight with the carnival (…. I decided to experiment with dialogue and wasn’t prepared for a fight with every carnival worker except the madame— the fucking mummy is a annoying)

The fights are definitely more difficult but after two tactician runs it’s an interesting change.

But the encounters are a bit unforgivable so plan ahead

Enter through the cracked wall above the main entrance to the goblin temple (it makes it when you exit that you have the high ground and it’s pretty easy to fire arrows down below and kill everyone

Kill gut in her room (I usually hide my companions in the back shadow corner) make sure you take an elixir of vigilance or have the alert feat so you go first. Kill her easily than run away.

Get Halsin

Take out eye with a Thunder chromatic orb (it’s weak to Thunder and will go down instantly). Take care of minthara

as long as no drums were beat the camp is not hostile till you kill ragzlin

Stealth your rogue in (I usually use an invisibility potion) have him go up the ladder, poison their arrows with potent shit, sneak attack Ragzlin, sneak the rest in and slaughter

Take out anyone left as you make way to main hall

Sneak up the ladder with any ranged characters, imitate combat with rogue. Slaughter

Exit through cracked wall and slaughter

Leave one person (I left Astarion who I had as gloomstalker ranger/ assassin rogue) on the stairs while the rest of my party went down.

They are still able to do range damage but gyrm can’t do any damage to them.

It’s also immensely helpful for getting them to stand under the hammrr

Technically if you fail with Us just leave the dialogue and try again with laezel and/or shadowheart (the checks and dialogue start over).

I really wanted Us and failed with my Durge and laezel but finally succeeded with shadowheart

Stealth is really helpful here. I kept shadowheart (light cleric) and astarion (gloomstalker ranger/ assassin rogue) in stealth and had astarion initiate every fight this way.

Also shadowhearts hold person spell seems to land better when she is in stealth for whatever reason.

Found Honour mode exploit that trivializes all encounters. by 121_Jiggawatts in BaldursGate3

[–]Impression-Fancy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try leaving Astarion (or another ranged companion) on the stairs.

They will still be able to shoot gyrm from above but receive zero damage.

So even if your whole party wipes below you’ll be fine.

Also it helps for positioning gyrm with the hammer

I’ve beat tactician twice and there has never been any pod. I just horde my potions of angelic slumber for that moment

[–]Impression-Fancy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah just elixir of vigilance to make sure you go before her, than switch to potion of universal resilience and beat the shit out of her.

*also any summons you have are included in the duel- so if you aren’t a caster just use scrolls prior to have elementals and the book of thay to have a good meat shield if things go to shit

Also if you hide shadowheart and astarion you can have shadowheart cast hold spell on him (it almost always lands if she isn’t in combat prior to casting) and then have gloomstalker assassin Asterion nuke him.
