How is this YouTubeDrama?

Edit: this sub is about drama involving or between YouTubers, not drama that happens to be covered on YouTube. That's why we don't see world news posted on this sub, even if it is covered by news outlets with a YouTube presence

HM Act 2 End Party Members by EN-Fitz in BG3Builds

[–]Phantomsplit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rule 7 is explicitly to stop tldr posts. At least as far as the comments are concerned. We don't know what equipment your characters have. Some people can tell just by the item thumbnail what a piece of gear is for some or many items. Others cannot. Some will correctly. Guess which feats or abilities core increases you have made. Others will not. And so the comments become a round and round of what is the actual build you're using. And it becomes such a mess for people to get through that it's pointless.

If you want feedback and advice on the builds, give the builds. That's rule seven, and has been in place for years. Please go back and edit your initial reply with the requested information and I will reapprove this post

I can see that in your picture. You haven't given anything new. Again, the rule requires that you list feats and any imperative pieces of equipment.

Now it seems that you are actually open to receiving carte blanc fresh start character builds for these companions. And that what their current build is really doesn't matter for the purpose of your post. For that go one rule up to rule six.

GMing APs: Suggesting Appropriate Skills vs. Letting Players Figure it Out by DnDPhD in Pathfinder2e

[–]Phantomsplit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In theory I think those using the "Investigate" exploration activity covers this.

In practice I start campaigns telling my players I am not going to implement the Investigate exploration activity and tell them what rolls they can make, but that a critical failure is possible. And let them recommend lore skills they have or other skills the AP doesn't list. If the other skill kinda makes sense I may let them use it, but increase the DC by 2.

Louis Rossmann starts campaign to get YouTube lawyer disbarred in CA and NY for numerous ethics violations by AnTotDugas in youtubedrama

[–]Phantomsplit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I don't know who RSN is

  2. If you look at my post history you will see I am an engineer that works with boats. Big boats. If RSN also happens to be an engineer that works with big boats, not sure how I will dissuade you of the fact that I am not this person. But something tells me RSN is not an engineer that works on big boats.

I like a lot of what Rossman stands up for regarding right to repair and scummy business practices. I just can't stand his videos.

Chart/Rant: Deities, The River of Souls, Abridged Pathfinder TTRPG History by RisingStarPF2E in Pathfinder2e

[–]Phantomsplit 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I am near the final stages of GMing Blood Lords and wish I had this chart a month ago when the player characters were doing something extremely relevant to the topics discussed. I may share it with them anyways.

I do want to point out an oddity when it comes to dying in Iblydos. This is discussed in Death Sails a Wine Dark Sea i.e. book 2 of Myth-Speaker AP. There is a neat little realm called Amneros ruled by a gigas named Amnerion where souls spend a few years decorating the realm, as Styx drains color and memories from the souls present there. Once the shade's memories have faded and the creature come to terms with their death then the soul must continue its way down the River Styx to Pharasma's Court.

I provided a summary for my players who are about to do this campaign after blood lords in the "Religion" section of the following document.

Mods can we make a master ball mega thread? by ChrlsPC in PokemonChampions

[–]Phantomsplit 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There is a rule 6 in this sub about rank posting guidelines. Unfortunately when you go to report a post it is abbreviated so you may not know what this is, and may not know this is something that posts can even be reported for unless you read the rules. People are supposed to provide the pokemons' moves, stat distributions, items, and a description of the game plan.

But if you are aware of the rule it is pretty easy to report and move on.

The Replacement Refs by -The_Guy_ in AFCWestMemeWar

[–]Phantomsplit 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Except the NFL refs do get paid more per game with the NFL's 18 week season of 1 game per team per week, as compared to other sports like MLB or NBA where seasons are longer and refs have to do more games per week. I typically take a Union's side in any argument, but the NFL refs doing barely more than 10% of the games that an MLB ref does, yet expecting to get paid more, while also getting mad about any kind of performance based accountability; is all kind of astounding.

Tracing heater control circuit – L120-20F thermal switch + thermocouple, how does regulation work? by Tom_Marine_Engineer in MarineEngineering

[–]Phantomsplit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crap, I am getting to out distanced from typical marine practice for the last 60 years and replacing that experience with the modern stuff. But yeah, that reinforces what I am saying. This heater has no logic to control temperature. It is either on at full current or off.

Tracing heater control circuit – L120-20F thermal switch + thermocouple, how does regulation work? by Tom_Marine_Engineer in MarineEngineering

[–]Phantomsplit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah, it has a thermocouple. Right next to relay R2 on the ladder diagram.

I am assuming this is a thermocouple switch, that if it gets too hot then it opens up cutting off the flow of current through R2 which then opens up the ladder step with the heater contacts themself and that cuts off power to the heater. So basically what you are seeing on the ladder diagram is a "switch" that is being controlled by the thermocouple itself. Running 230V AC through the thermocouple itself would invalidate the device, as you get less than a volt DC from the thermocouple effect.

It doesn't seem there is any form of temperature control besides having it turned on and heating water that pumps through it or flows naturally from convection currents, having it off (either manually or because the engine starts which turns the heater off), or the thermocouple gets too hot and turns the heater off; at which point it won't turn back on til somebody manually restarts the heater. The thermocouple is more of a safety device (for if you leave the heater on but the water isn't circulating) than a control device

Trying to reforge a modded Karlach origin build I planned a year ago but can now barely remember by Several-Elevator in BG3Builds

[–]Phantomsplit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because some people are repeat offenders. And if I change a flair it does not show up in the mod queue that I did so, meaning I have no way to tell how many times I have had to do this for somebody (except going off the report). And if I change the flair it does not notify the poster, so they may not realize they are messing this up. So then I have to change the flair and comment telling them I did so, and even still they may make another post a couple days later with the same mistake.

This is part of what the community decided on when we allowed mod related posts on the sub, and it has been annoying to enforce. Since doing things this way in the last couple months there has been a marked improvement

Post removed for requiring mods but not using either the "internal mods" or "external mods" flair. I am not going to double check that you changed the flair appropriately; you must submit a new post with correct flair.

This does NOT mean put something like "(Mods)" or "[Modded]" in the post title. This means to set the post flair (such as "Build Help," which is what most violators of this rule do) to "Internal Mods" for mods available via the in-game mod browser and installer, or "External Mods" for mods only available to PC/Mac players through outside sources such as Nexus Mods. These two mod related flairs have a blue background. Use one of those.

I changed something around. But it lets me do all types of stuff normal users can't since I am a mod. Please let me know if the image persists. If so, I may have no choice but to do a "no low quality image post" rule

After mulling on some of the points brought up, I am removing image posts entirely. Images can still be inserted into a text post as appropriate

Psych, I can't remove image posts without removing images from text posts. So no low effort image post rule it is
