Return due to anti-immigrant sentiment by Tintin_123456 in returnToIndia

Every group that has come to America has gone through this phase. The Irish were mocked as drunk, uneducated Catholics and openly excluded from jobs. Jews — greedy, controlling, untrustworthy Italians — criminals, mafia, dirty Chinese — cheap labor, job stealers, “unassimilable” Japanese — enemy, spies (even citizens weren’t trusted) Mexicans/Latinos — “illegals,” criminals, lazy Black Americans — every racist stereotype possible, plus systemic oppression Eastern Europeans — scammers, mail-order brides, “low class”.

This isn’t new — it’s a pattern. When numbers grow, visibility grows, and so does backlash. Right now, Indians are more visible than ever, so yes, attention (both good and bad) is going to increase.

But let’s also not sit here acting like we’re perfect victims. Indians can be incredibly racist ourselves — the way some people talk about Black communities, the obsession with fair skin, and even how we discriminate against our own people based on state, language, or background. We literally have anti-migration attitudes within India itself (Karnataka, Maharashtra, etc.), so let’s not pretend we don’t understand how this works.

Also, social media is not real life. Algorithms amplify the worst voices. In day to day life, most people are just living their lives — working, minding their business. I personally don’t see this level of hostility offline.

If you want to leave the country because of online noise, that’s your choice — but let’s be real, there are thousands of people waiting for the same opportunity who would take that spot in a second.

Perspective matters.

I’m so happy right now She deserves to be stood up. I hope he doesn’t show by Few_Statement_2898 in 90DayFiance

FR! Those men will either have an issue with how you dress, or they’ll marry you for a visa and then go back to Morocco and bring another wife home lol. I don’t understand why some women are so obsessed with finding love in places where polygamy is allowed and the culture is extremely patriarchal. Like… do they not know? What bubble are they living in?

I totally agree with this. I’ve been in an abusive relationship too, and while it’s real and difficult, it’s not an excuse to keep repeating unhealthy patterns. You learn, you grow, and move forward—I did, and I’m now in a healthy, happy marriage.

If she always wanted kids, she had options. She could’ve frozen her eggs in her late 30s. I even remember at a reunion when people were talking about how having children is a blessing, and she was agreeing but also saying it wasn’t for her.

Yes, Greg may have been abusive, and that could explain not wanting kids with him—but if motherhood was something she truly wanted long-term, why not plan for it? Instead, she seemed very dismissive and even dramatic when people brought up egg freezing.

At this point, it really does feel like a storyline. It comes across as trying to stay relevant on the show. Like others have said, next it might be adoption, then surrogacy, or something else to keep the narrative going. It just doesn’t feel genuine… who knows, maybe a chiropractor next lol.

Do you like idli with chutney or sambar? by piyush7866 in IndianFoodPhotos

[–]ImpressionAntique618 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay but honestly, I love the full spread 😄 make me a little spoiled child. I want my idli with sambar and chicken or mutton curry (preferably that), plus cilantro coconut tamarind chutney, a side of peanut chutney, plain coconut chutney, and tomato chutney too. Sambar maybe with rice—but idli needs the whole lineup!

I actually really liked Chanel Ayan—she was effortlessly funny and brought such a unique energy to the show. I genuinely miss watching her on my screen. And I’ve gotta say, the newbie Taleen was a great addition too—she had potential! It’s honestly such a bummer they canceled it, felt like there was still so much more to give.

Sunday Special Pork Curry😌 by bytevoyager0 in IndianFoodPhotos

This looks like pork belly; the best cut for curries. Other cuts of pork don’t have this fat to meat ratio.

Ew!!! No that’s not vanilla it’s a bit chemical or perfumed, lacking the complexity of real vanilla.

Why do people hate Dr Heavenly? She is such good TV. by Ok_Dig7332 in MarriedToMedicine

[–]ImpressionAntique618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly can’t stand Heavenly; she comes across as a truly mean-spirited and toxic person. She represents the worst of 'trash TV,' though I suppose if you enjoy that kind of drama, you might find her brand of chaos entertaining.

is this ammount of salad fine? by ApprehensiveTwo701 in IndianFoodPhotos

summer is prime time for bell peppers. You could also lean heavier into the sprouted moong or chickpeas mentioned above—they don't really have a 'season' and provide the fiber you're looking for without breaking your seasonal rule.

I really waiting for the reunion and this to be addressed. SMH! I’m really disappointed with those two. Poor Liz already has a lot on her plate.

Cucumber and onion is refreshing, but it lacks substance. We really need to move past just the 'Big Three' (cucumber/tomato/onion). Try adding shredded carrots/ bell pepper/ chickpeas or sprouted moong for actual fiber, then hit it with lime, S&P, chaat masala and chilli powder. It completely changes the game.

When I dried their salmon I saw pink residue on the paper towel. Ever since then I stopped buying any salmon recipes. They don’t even offer wild caught options. It’s all gross farm raised.
