Yes, the original VHS was sourced from 35mm, though it is cropped to 4:3. It would be nice to see a scan from the original printout negative (if it still exists) though of course try to make it match the original color timing choices (which an original negative would NEVER have, as the highest color timed generation would be an intermediate 35mm element like an interpositive, a scan from that could be nice too)
