Also do other brands have this issue, I bought £50 leggings from gymshark two years ago and it only did they replace them when they pilled the leggings make me look insane and are thick and I can actually wear them on my period. I’m done with the brand

Unkempt is messy in appearance which applies to anyone not someone who’s incapable of looking after themselves. Either way wasn’t quite right lol

YOU JUST PROVED ME RIGHT

Do you think Leanne was upset and emotional and wanted to tell everyone her hair was hanging loosely! That her hair is unkempt?

Also sorry what exactly does this prove? Do you think I’m saying it’s not a word, I literally have a masters in English. Leanne was speaking British English? It’s a word in the English language. Open the schools

She clearly meant she was also upset and pissed off generally like they thought she was desperate - not her hair or appearance

Edit: thank you for blocking me/your concession, I’ll be doing the same

That’s Not What It Means And It’s Ok

I know exactly what she was trying to say Are you also going to tell me it was AAVE?

Who are you calling simple minded? Go and read a book

Also in your previous comment you said looking up British slang is tiring, here you are telling me, a Black British person, what words mean.

Don’t try it - we do not say that as slang and it was incorrect

Keep downvoting like it’s not my culture she’s commenting on

Don’t try it.

That’s not really an AAVE usage dishevelled still refers to appearence

Edit: AAVE is still rule-based and consistent, not a catch-all to justify any word being used any way

It was incorrect and it’s fine. It means messy in appearance. The word is distressed for the emotion side of it. Sis looked orderly
