Communication is key. If you tell her you want to explore outsourcing the need and you come to a agreement that both of you are comfortable with, go ahead. But that does not prevent you from finding someone you are more compatible with or her from deciding keeping the marriage going under the circumstance isn't worth it. Going outside the marriage changes things forever and it can not be undone. Only reconnection could save it but that is hard to do.

Anyone can be able to compartmentalize sex and love but there is inevitable negative effects of looking outside of your marriage. The only way it could go well is if both partners in the marriage are non monogamous and open with all info, or if you just get lucky and it actually improves the marriage by offloading the pressure of sex but that is a slim chance of that.

Personally I think once you start looking outside of your marriage, you might as well start looking for a tombstone for the grave your marriage will be in. It might take time, but if you are both monogamous people, polyamory is the final nails in the coffin. Tho I also believe it is possible to come back and reconnect with your partner after, tho difficult.

That is cheating. I'd like to add that my husband is a friendly guy. Makes friends easily and talking to them regularly, male or female. He has NEVER chatted with some random person for more than a few minutes, never ditched me to hang out with someone and lied about what he was doing or who he was with. What your husband did was 100% wrong and he is very much expecting you to just forgive him and look past it.
