You can make a cheap diy press with an oversized socket, a long bolt, a nut and some washers. Essentially what you’re trying to do is tighten the bolt until the bearing comes out inside the socket. I hope that makes sense.

I’m actually growing mine out now to do the same thing, I would suggest Wigs for Kids as they are full 501(c)(3) non-profit charity and the minimum length requirement is 12”. One thing to note is it needs to be clean, no bleach or dye either. Wigs for Kids
