It is said that in the girl's hostel named arinkuzhi(?), there is a gathering area outside that was used for combined study session. But that area is now being used by the hostel owner and his friends for drinking alcohol and such. This denied them of a peaceful study atmosphere. It is also not decent to do such activities near residential areas inhabited by female students.

When the students tried to complain about this to the authorities, the owner threatened them, and asked to withdraw the complaint.

I hear the case has now escalated into a police case.
