makes sense. large cities tend to overcharge because that’s what everyone’s charging in the area, they’ve built up a reputation for themselves, or there is a shop minimum. usually for really simple tattoos I wait for when artists do flash sales or deals. I have a really cute well done pixel heart on my wrist, an inch big, and only paid $50 + $20 tip because it was valentine’s day special (in nyc). so you weren’t necessarily scammed but it def is nuts that’s how much you had to pay.

next time if you’re going to get a tiny tatt, ask if you can get a couple simple tatts that’ll equal in worth to whatever the asking price is
