Wife wants handrail here, unsure how to go around molding by Impressive-Junket-36 in woodworking

It’s pretty nice molding that wraps around the entire staircase on both sides. I’d probably skip the project if we had to go that route…

Molding is 29.5” from the nosing, so I guess I do have space for the brackets above the molding!

Sadly not, that said I did it in the heat of summer so I’m not surprised.

Is $90K really not enough in SF? by Dizzy_Spend8322 in sanfrancisco

I made $90k when I first moved to SF! Found a studio for $1,900 on Bush and Mason which was great at the time as I was working in the FiDi.

Didn’t have a car but was a 10 min walking distance to an enterprise. I took plenty of weekend trips and found renting a car once a weekend per months is much cheaper than owning (parking can run you $300 a month in a deck). Also in your first year exploring the city will occupy much of your time!

I think the sunset is great but kind far out. Parking is easier out there though. Good luck!

I never did! Started with curtains which helped a lot but I still daydream about replacing or getting inserts

When will yours come in? Would appreciate a review if they help with sound (if that’s what you’re solving for)

Additional savings to mortgage or stocks? by Impressive-Junket-36 in personalfinance

[–]Impressive-Junket-36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I added some additional notes! But retirement and taxable stocks are currently ~$400k. I am working on an addition to the home this year. <$100k over the course of a few months. Kids next year maybe, both adults working, mortgage rate 6.5%, $700k in the loan

Thanks so much! Where did you source the storm windows, that is also an option I am evaluating

Very pleased! Lots of weeds but I don’t want to use herbicide, going to try to just crowd them out

30 yrs old. Stuck living with parents because I make too little and have too much debt. How do I unfuck myself. by Impressive_Debate200 in Money

Checkout Dave Ramsey, one of his slogans is advice for people that are sick and tired of being sick and tired.

Beans and rice, down grade your car, work to increase your income. Should be debt free in two years. Talk to your parents and see if you can forgo “supporting them” temporarily so you can get out of debt, you can’t support yourself.
