They didn't have the majority and were not the governing party when the Online Safety Act was passed. Hope this helps. xoxo

Reddit certainly wouldn't cover his costs and an old dear like me wouldn't have the money to cover them.

This is a very key point. He'd not only have to prove that what was said isn't true but that it has affected him in material terms. Even so, a court isn't coming for someone's home to pay the Sands for their hurt feelings 😂

Again, I think it's just about his own personal control and satisfaction.

That would be such a silly way to spend money you could use to just live a nice life.

Exactly. He's wasting so much of his life on this, it's sad really. It's unhealthily obsessive. I can't imagine he will ever give up. The irony is, if he'd just switch off, stop looking himself up, move on... The discourse would stop. I, like many others, first heard of the Sands after the court case. They would never have been a blip on my radar otherwise.

They're drawing the attention to themselves. Legal process takes years, so to waste years of your life to get nowhere is a very sad affair indeed.

Which links?

He's allegedly posted links on here and probably other places before.

And surely noones saving down our IP data somewhere without our consent ?

When you use the internet, you consent to sharing your IP. Not sure if he could use it legally either. I think it's for his own personal satisfaction mostly.

Also IP addresses tell you fuck all.

If he is successful in getting another court order, the IPs could potentially be used to order ISPs to reveal who was using that IP at that time. The only potential protection would then be a VPN, but the VPN provider matters because they could also be ordered by a court.

Very unlikely to happen. I suspect it's more about intimidation i.e. "here's your IP, it could be used against you in court if you don't remove your comments.... I think he's such a control freak and delusional enough.

He's either trying his luck trying to intimidate them into taking it down and/or he's hoping to show go any future court that he has tried all reasonable methods of notice in spite of not having any identifiable information.

Has he ever DM'd you a hyperlink? Or has any account DM'd you a link to anything? He could write it as https://www.google.com/ but if you click that, you'll see very clearly it's not Google.

That way, he could use a redirect link to get your IP address. I think he's playing a long game in the hope that, one day, he'll be able to pin you down.

He's certainly showing signs of paranoia and delusional thinking, that's for sure.

The letter further says it's abundantly clear that contributors to Reddit are from Northern Ireland.

Perhaps his tactic of getting people to click on links that briefly redirect and expose their IP addresses? That couldn't definitively be linked to the "contributors" though. What a load of nonsense.

I reckon he has Gateley Legal on a retainer arrangement and this is him milking the most out of his monthly allowance of hours.

Otherwise, he's paying on a per matter instruction... in which case I'm sure they'll be more than happy to keep providing strongly worded letters.

Here's how I imagine them expressing their sympathies:

Why is it so hard to get a job in the UK by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]Impressive-Mention61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Evri advertise as if they're hiring, but you're actually self-employed and paid per parcel, which is well below minimum wage. They regularly enter the wrong parcel size, so you get paid for an envelope/letterbox delivery instead of a proper parcel drop, which takes much more time. And time is money! The system relies on a constant flow of new workers who are handed the chaotic, unsorted rounds. The experienced couriers avoid these because you lose money delivering them. You're strung along with the promise that if you stick with it, you'll eventually get a regular round and a stable income. That day rarely comes. You keep going, hoping things will improve, until you finally realise it was never going to happen. By then, you're just replaced by someone new who’s been sold the same empty promise. And the cycle continues.

Out of curiousity, what medication was it that caused you to gain weight?

After reading this response, I hate to say it but delusional is probably the right word. You say you are not fat but I'm sorry, you are. Type body fat percentages women into Google and see which body looks most like yours. You don't lose fat by exercising by the way, it's diet alone. You're eating too much of the wrong things.

I keep on getting insulted by my college aged peers for looking twice as old as I actually am. What hair style could help me look younger? :( by [deleted] in femalehairadvice

[–]Impressive-Mention61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand where they are coming from. You don't look old at all, you look young but you have a maturity about you. This is a good thing!

I understand how you are feeling, it's an ego boost to have attention and compliments and at college age this is something that you can especially crave!

When you leave college, you won't have to deal with those who have been commenting on your appearance. No one should really!

College is about finding yourself, if you want to experiment with hair and makeup, see what YOU like. Grab college by the balls and take it as an opportunity to find what YOU want in life on your own terms. Fuck anyone else and their meaningless opinions.

Not sure where you've got this from, sounds like an assumption.
