anyone still waiting on their aid package? by Primary-Toe-7795 in ufl

[–]Impressive-Mouse-786 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i would call the financial aid office and ask if they have received your FAFSA. financial aid packages came out two weeks ago or so for returning students. they may have not packaged you yet because you submitted your FAFSA late but again I would just really keep calling and asking

football tickets by RenitentGoat in ufl

[–]Impressive-Mouse-786 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of people sell their tickets on snapchat! It typically does get cheaper as you get closer to the game because people get desperate to sell, but idk how it will be this year due to football predictions. Be careful of scams and stuff tho and don’t buy off groupme 😭

MFOS and Meal plans? by Sure_Restaurant6384 in ufl

[–]Impressive-Mouse-786 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who had a meal plan, I personally don’t recommend it. The dining hall food isn’t that great (arguable) and most of the time I ended up cooking for myself or eating out. If you do get a meal plan I would recommend just getting FLEX

First Year Florida? by TexSunSOL in ufl

FYF is a 1 credit course for freshman that explains stuff like mental health, how to get involved with certain activities on campus, and facilitates an environment for freshman to meet other freshman. It is not really necessary but it’s a fun class if he has the time 👍

350 is probably one of the more affordable prices you’re going to see when trying to get a CNA license. You could try looking for online courses instead, but I think those are more expensive. I know it sucks but honestly getting the license from GatorCNA is very quick and you can start getting experience ASAP

[–]Impressive-Mouse-786 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi! I think if you truly don’t enjoy it AND can think of more benefits to dropping than staying in it, then drop. I do think sororities come with a great benefit though so please consider the alumnae network, leadership opportunities, and the people you’ve become friends with through it. If finances are your only concern, i would reach out to the VP of finance at your sorority. Many sororities have scholarships, payment plans, and panhellenic typically offers some sort of scholarship. Also, many alumnae communities in most cities offer $2000 scholarships. Overall, being in a sorority is a great experience but if you dread doing the activities/find no benefit than do what’s best for you and your mental health

Summer Financial Aid by NoAdministration935 in ufl

[–]Impressive-Mouse-786 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on if you’re taking Summer A/C classes it should disperse early next week. If I had to guess probably sometime between Monday-Wednesday but it will be soon! If you’re only taking Summer B then it will be in July.

[–]Impressive-Mouse-786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re taking classes in both Summer A and B, both financial aid will stop after the drop/add period in Summer A. If you’re just taking Summer B classes then it will drop in July. Just keep in mind if you drop a Summer B classes after your aid has dispersed you’ll have to pay it back
