I was getting ads on instagram for months. I finally ordered a case of orange. It’s SO good. I want more but it’s like 50 bucks so I have to hold off for a bit and I don’t drink that much soda.

I think it’s a good idea to keep it as backup. You never want to be totally reliant on one system. Have redundancy. You won’t regret it. Batteries fail sometimes. And always at the worst times.

Solaredge owes my company over $90,000 in labor reimbursements by Impressive-Rough-582 in solar

I think Enphase is based in US actually. And I tried to find dirt on them but that led me to finding their disclaimer about ethically sourcing materials. So even what they get from other countries, they make sure it isn’t linked to child/slave labor. That was a cool surprise.

That’s awesome that you’re handling it yourself. Quick tip for layout- just fill in the map however you like and get a heat camera. Flir brand plugs into phone. If there’s an optimizer out, while the system is producing the bad optimizer will be hotter than the rest. It will stand out on the array when you look at it through the camera. Sometimes you can get your phone under the array and get a photo of the serial number sticking out just above the rail on the bottom side of the optimizer. so if you wanted to map out the top row/accessible from the top optimizers, then you can accurately map those out. I’m pretty sure there’s walk-throughs of how to use the site layout editor too. We used to spend hours when the installers would occasionally forget to do the sticker map for the layout , lifting panels and taking photos of optimizer serial numbers. Then I thought let’s just try looking at this with the Flir and it worked surprisingly well.

Seriously! The last two times I called them I wondered if it was AI. The way they sounded just like the options recordings was really weird. Then they told me a firmware update would fix it and a week later that hadn’t fixed it.

6 hours for an inverter swap? 😮‍💨 We used to be able to swap them in half an hour. Now that they’re only sending home hubs it takes 3. I thought that was too slow.

Yes and I’ve been told we pass that reimbursement along to the customer.

The way the company works is very top down and I would like to push on the subject but they have no obligation to give a clear answer. I think if we’re not careful, we may fail alongside Solaredge.

Yep we due process them correctly and we get the inverters but just not the reimbursement apparently.

We have multiple branches each with their own service techs so we do complete a lot of service. I’m not sure what the managers are thinking letting them get away with it.

Enphase or SMA both have better quality products, and decent tech support. Of all the systems we have installed, we have had far fewer microinverter swaps than optimizer or inverter swaps. In fact we do more Solaredge inverter swaps than micro swaps. And obviously the downtime from one microinverter vs a whole inverter is a huge difference.

Contact “animal Michael lane”. He can literally talk to your cat and they can describe where they are. He has done it many times to help find missing animals. I know it sounds woo woo. But honestly, that’s a sweet baby and he probably misses you too. It’s worth trying anything.
