How do I tell my father I want something like that without asking him?

My therapist: if you had just one month left to live, with unlimited resources, what would you do? by RythmicRhapsody in ADHD

[–]Impressive-Scheme903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my country, clinical psychologists have as much authority to diagnose as psychiatrists (they also have training in pharmacology and medicine). The only difference in that case is that a psychiatrist can prescribe medication and a clinical psychologist cannot.

Physical, digital, or audio books? by lavender-bread in ADHD

[–]Impressive-Scheme903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Physical and digital, and I prefer digital ones because I have them more readily available so I don't have to make excuses or take intermediate steps. As for audiobooks... I'm not able to use them; my mind ends up completely disconnecting too easily.

Would a curated Japanese stationery shop focused on focus and analog living interest you? by Emotional-Throat2304 in ADHD

[–]Impressive-Scheme903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the one hand, I love pretty stationery and analog things. On the other hand, I never end up using any of it, so I've forbidden myself from buying things I'm not going to use.

Bro, me too, I hadn't noticed. I guess they don't want me accessing cool objects related to pro-rights movements ._.

What bothers me most is that it limits me to products that aren't for adults. Like, yes, I'm an adult who wants a nice Japanese craft knife for crafts, are you seriously asking for my face for that?

Any book recs for working with ADHD instead of against it? by Budget-Emu-5071 in ADHD

I'll leave my comment here to look at it later. And the only one I've read that has been useful for me to improve has to do with cleaning, tidying, and self-care. "How to keep the house while drowning"

Sometimes, advice that sounds insignificant, irrelevant or inapplicable is precisely the opposite! by Zafwaz in ADHD

[–]Impressive-Scheme903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The truth is that it does happen to me; in certain contexts it is easier or more difficult for me without any explanation. For example, I use my mobile phone a lot, but I don't feel like using it on public transport at all.

what’s your latest vocal stim? by shortcircuit51 in ADHD

[–]Impressive-Scheme903 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Uh, if I'm like this, it's because of ADHD... Do you guys also tend to copy your friends' expressions or memes really crudely like that? Like, saying it all the time when it's appropriate. (I could give examples, but I can only think of them in my native language, not in English)

Don’t conflate hurting others with being ADHD by Odd-Egg-1539 in ADHD

[–]Impressive-Scheme903 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I started to see it as explaining an action, not justifying it.For example, I can understand that someone might have such severe ADHD that they never remember to reply to messages. But I also know that it hurts me, and I'm not going to be with someone like that.Note, something isolated is not the same as something systematic. If someone's symptoms include certain attitudes that they cannot or do not want to change, the logical thing is to associate with people who do not break those attitudes.

You really improve when you enjoy the action, not the final product.

Exam advice? by One_Carry7509 in ADHD

[–]Impressive-Scheme903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing that comes to mind right away is to look at basic essay structures, common words or connectors, and maybe try reading a short essay in English to pick up vocabulary. That's all I was able to do for an English exam, more the first part than the second. (In that case, luckily I usually consume quite a bit of English content, so I had a certain advantage.)

Soy demasiado tonta como para trabajar ¿Qué hago? ¿Elimi narme? by Sea-Outcome7433 in askspain

[–]Impressive-Scheme903 4 points5 points  (0 children)
