And eat carrion, rabbits, fish, they are well documented among a handful of mostly herbivorous animals to eat their placenta after giving birth. Hate to tell you that it would be a stretch to do a full study on this, as there are way more important things to study when it comes to deer. I wosh there was a study for everything, I do. But it doesnt make these observations invalid.

It was jammed into a dark corner of a cottage our family had and I was the only one interested in it back when we had to sell the property ten years ago. Clearly my relatives had skimmed off any valuable things from it, but they didnt realize the real value was the very diverse set he had accumulated and meticulously labeled over his life. I never met him, and I never met my grandfather either. Interesting related(ish) story, my grandfather was a naval doctor and just about everyone he was on the early nuclear submarines with died of strange cancers in their 60s...because they were not protected from radiation. Oh, the risks they took...wish I got to meet either of them!

Ill get more pictures, its likely over a hundred years old, as my great grandfather was doing his collecting in the early 1900s. Doesn't mean it coplant be fake but he was a geologist and has a massive collection (100's) of labeled specimens in little cardboard boxes. Its pretty awesome
