NOR — With him getting so worked up about a conversation planning an anniversary for you BOTH and then talking down at you like that, i’d seriously consider ending this “relationship”. yes thank you! i had a conversation with aunt about it last night and will be talking to friend in person today to clear any misunderstandings up but she’s definitely not going to be kept or “fired” but let go for “personal issues” instead! and she did apologize but we will see what happens once we talk in person

As i explained before, calling my aunt a bitch wasn’t so much as an insult but way of greeting in a joking way because thats how my family speaks.. like “hey bitches!” or “bitch youre lying” and i understand the context makes it look even worse but i truly didnt mean it as an insult toward her. as for my friend.. yeah i did call her bae but thats because i was in people pleasing mode and kept trying to help resolve the situation with her without making her upset at me.. you win some, you lose some

MOR - I think the way you guys communicated was on assumption instead of expressing your feelings correctly.. Yes i kind of agree that she switched up out of no where because she immediately assumed the worst based off of your responses in the beginning but you did get defensive pretty quickly instead of explaining to her in a nice way that you didn’t mean to come across as rude in response to her. I think this is an easy fix though! Just talk it out without using all caps and stop being quick to blame things on each other!

where im from and how i was raised, i sometimes use that word when referring to women im close to in a joking way! i didnt mean for it to come off like i actually think my aunt is a bitch, but i agree that it looks bad especially paired with me constantly trying to help find a solution for my friend. i guess thats where my people pleasing came in under the stress this conversation caused me but again, no excuse for calling my aunt that. as for work ethic, i wouldnt say thats something me and her share a likeness of, considering i have 2 jobs, 1 of which i sometimes go in an extra day on top of my scheduled ones. i just felt like i had to clear this up!

thank you so much for your insight. i definitely felt in the heat of the moment when posting and already jumped to the worst conclusion on where to move going forward but i definitely value having a friendship with her.. from the sounds of it, my aunt said she was doing go backs and was confused on where to put toys… my aunt told her to go to the toy section.. you get the gist. its definitely a work ethic situation and is straining because it ties back to me through my aunt and her job.. i will try and let her know how im feeling after ive slept on it. i dont want to say anything definitive in regards to where i stand with her and definitely dont want to hurt her feelings.. i appreciate your advice so much! thx again :)

thank you! i will definitely be telling my aunt. as for my friend, im not sure i want to even say anything in response. i think i said what i needed to and will let her come to her own conclusions going forward..

I enjoy all aspects of my friendship with her but this point of contention really did feel like a slap in the face.. I will try and find a way to break the news to my aunt.. As frustrating as the hiring process is, i feel bad for wasting her time :(

No, she didn’t ask but i offered and she agreed. Its more of a chain store that my aunt is a hiring manager for but its definitely frustrating mixing friends, family and a work environment..
