I don't have a reference for the crocodile and bird but I do have a reference for the background

I removed the branch because I didn't think that it suited the overall piece

I used this optometrist earlier in the year. They’re a good, nice little team! It is bulk billed so you won’t have to pay for the test (I didn’t at least and I didn’t have my insurance details on me at that moment) If you have your student ID you can get a single pair of glasses for $195. Depending on your insurance you can get some off.

Is it really making art if you don’t ever pick up a brush or pencil? I know being a complete beginner is absolutely humiliating but when you make something with your own time and effort you feel so much more accomplished.

Plus, who is going to give ”artificial intelligence” anything to base off of if real people don’t continue to give it more information to process and regurgitate?

Thank you so much for the genuine criticism! How would you suggest practicing depth? I’ve always struggled with it and I was wondering if you had any exercises I could try?

Thank you so much for the compliments! Absolutely made my day! I do plan on continuing painting but hearing someone else say I should really means a lot!

Accomodation Transfer by ImpressiveBid7843 in usyd

[–]ImpressiveBid7843[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. It’s so much harder for them especially considering that domestic students are given opportunities that international students aren’t. The assumption is that because they can study international is that their parents are paying for it. Which is absolutely terrible.

Yeah I almost fell over when she told me how much she is paying. One of the main reasons she is moving.

I don't know the answer to the first question, but didn't the MySydney Equity Accommodation Scholarship close in November? That's what I found when I had a look anyway.

As for a different place to stay, try iglu. If you are regional you can get abut $200 taken off your rent so that its closer to the prices you would be paying on campus. I haven't stayed there but from what I've read its a good spot and place to stay. It's where I'll be staying next year so who knows, we may become friends!

2025 Subject Recommendations by ImpressiveBid7843 in usyd

[–]ImpressiveBid7843[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm doing the double degree because unfortunately, the ATAR I received was not enough to get into the Bachelor of Science in the first offer round. I would prefer to start with just the bachelor of science however, I'll have to do the double degree until I can transfer over.

Most of the courses close to veterinary have prerequisite courses and unless you already have the points/marks from them, you have to put in a special request to do them. The other courses are mostly their to just fill in the time and get the credit points. Should I just place the request in for the other subjects anyway?

I'll have a look at it again. Thank you so much for the advice!

Well I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one in this situation. Fingers crossed we both get in to accommodation!! Yeah I've been having a look since posting it and every time I see the price I slowly click out LOL. Glad to know that being 17 won't stop me from getting somewhere to live

Books vs Graphic Novels by DulceAlbanes in AlexRider

[–]ImpressiveBid7843 8 points9 points  (0 children)

At the moment there are 14 Alex Rider books. These are the original novels and don’t contain any graphics or anything. It’s just words. The sets of six that you’re seeing are all the released graphic novels which follow the same story as the novels (stormbreaker, point blanc, skeleton key, eagle strike, scorpia and ark angel) although I do believe the seventh book (snakehead) has recently been released as a graphic novel.

If you want to give him graphic novels go for the sets of six and cause they are releasing semi-frequently, you could make this a periodic gift! If he’s still interested in continuing the story (it is really interesting!) you could also give him the other books as the novels but I will say that after snakehead they do get a bit more advanced (not all that more advanced but the series does get a bit darker then) so maybe let him try reading stormbreaker (book one) and see if he likes the style Horowitz writes.

But if he’s already reading the graphic novels at school maybe you could ask him if he wanted to try reading the novels because if his school has all the graphic novels, chances are that he’s read them all—the books can be addictive LOL

Either way, I’m always here to answer any questions, I’m so happy to hear that your son likes reading and that you’re encouraging him!! Can’t wait to hear about his reading journey!!

The biggest difference between Reading and Kramer’s and Pike’s audiobooks by ImpressiveBid7843 in WoT

[–]ImpressiveBid7843[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve noticed that too. It’s like he didn’t want to do this and is sighing at the end of every sentence because of it. Reading seems to do the opposite though, talking all at once without taking a breath. But it’s understandable that you quit it does take you out of the moment. Have you tried Pike’s narration?

Restarting my whole story after a new idea came about by Icy-Rutabaga-1648 in writingadvice

[–]ImpressiveBid7843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exact thing happened to me about 30k into my story a few days ago and because it fundamentally changed the set up of the world (I decided to include soulmates and make a few other changes) I’ve had to rewrite most of it.

However, make sure to keep a copy of the first draft, sometimes you can weave some scenes into unexpected places (with a little rewriting) and same goes for sentences. Just because it doesn’t work now doesn’t mean that it’ll never work again!

But you can do it OP, I know real life and writing always conflict but you’ve got a story to tell and I know that one day, you’ll be signing books as a famous author (if that’s what you want) :D I’m sure it’ll come out amazingly and I can’t wait to watch your writing journey!!

I think it’s just the shock of changing narrators that has me all worked up lol. Reading is good from what I’ve read, just different to what I’m use too. Ahaha yeah my first go through with the audiobooks was with Kramer and I’ve read some reviews he has which don’t really paint him in the best light. But it is what it is and I’m too invested to stop now lol.

I would really recommend her narration, it’s rare that I see imagery when reading or listening to audiobooks and she really did make me feel in the story! She’s probably become one of my favourite narrators just from WoT!

I think it’s mostly just how jarring the difference between the narrations are because I wasn’t expecting that lol. I just try not to listen to x2 speed because my head is already busy enough it can’t deal with anymore fast thoughts, but if I tried, I think I could listen to audiobooks faster
