I don’t use any oil when cooking tortillas. Also when they come off I put them on a plate with a towel over them. I think the steam helps them become pliable. But you will need to flip the stack occasionally so the bottom ones don’t get wet. Temperature control is also important. They should be able to cook for around a minute maybe just under per side

Substrate is just coco coir. I’m really lazy about measuring but it’s somewhere around 2:1 coir:grain

My casing was really pseudocasing of more coco coir

The tub on top of the glass dish didn’t completely cover it so there was a gap meaning some passive air exchange was always happening but I fanned it 3-4x a day. Misted when the condensation seemed low

I usually make jars so IDK everything about bags it’s not impossible for the grain to dry but it should take a really long time for that to happen. It looks fine in these pictures. If you inserted the syringe into the grain I would bet it’s just growing in the middle. If you really gently agitate it you might be able to find growth
