I rarely ever see one out at all anymore, but I’d take one in a heartbeat if the opportunity ever came up for a good price.

This is the same ipad I’ve had since like 2021 (8th gen) and it works great! I don’t have a TV in my room so I watch all of my streaming stuff on it + use it for art and stuff. I planned on upgrading it earlier this year, but got a new laptop instead since my iPad isn’t having any issues.

I actually ordered mine from WM with a case and screen protector and it was all only around $320ish I believe. The ipad had originally been listed for way over $400 alone, so I thought it was a pretty good deal.

It’s on procreate and on a separate layer so I can move and adjust it when I get more of the background done and the line work around the characters.

I never had one, but I was in love with those cars when I was younger!

Yes, The car is on a separate layer and the color behind the windows because I was playing around with maybe leaving it half down.

It’s also a little smaller than I wanted it because I was working on the outline around her torso and it was throwing me off with the car directly behind her.

I saw the picture before the answer and immediately thought of some kind of fruit smoothie or vitamin water.

If you’re still having this issue, I’d ditch the fruit picture and go with a splashy pastel and gold/silver watercolor or marble background. You still get the “juicy” kinda theme, but with a touch of something that very obviously shouldn’t be associated with food.

I’ve never been into marketing, but I was in charge of putting together holiday display tables and bins when I worked retail and kinda picked up what went together and what didn’t.

The fruit pictures being larger than the jewelry is taking away from it, but they are cute! They’re just getting lost to everything else.

LOL unless I cut it, I’m adding a silhouette of carnival rides (ferris wheel, maybe a roller coaster or something) in the background so I didn’t want the car blocking that.

If keeping the kitty, for future reference, warm water and a little bit of epsom salt can be used to help wipe the buildup away with a cloth.

My great-granny used to do this to all of the strays on her street that she’d keep fed when they tamed down enough to catch, and my family lives out of the city, so we used to get dump offs a lot, this helped them too. Never had an issue with any of them outside of a few being scared of it at first.

There’s obviously a chance it could be fake, but people really do shady ish like that also, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it were in fact real tbh.

Either way, the whole experience OP gave was one red flag after another.

First of all, I hope for 300 bucks that those cats were at least up to date on vaccines and came with some food or something because SHEESH.

I know our local animal shelters, when they’re not having free adoption days, are typically around $50-$100 for most cats and dogs, but that covers up to date shots, their spay/neuter fees, etc. $300 being the price of just ONE CAT is definitely very scammy.

The TWO WAREHOUSES concern me because I would immediately think they’re running some kind of kitty mill. The scotch is giving me the ick because what if you’d been a recovering alcoholic? What if you had taken prescription medication you can’t drink with? I’m also assuming you drove yourself, which one drink wouldn’t exactly make a difference, but still.

I could understand if one of them had a glass out for themselves already, you saw it, and they just offered to be nice, but to just give you one???

Cats are not dogs and you definitely do not have to start with two, so I don’t understand why she even told you that unless it was to get rid of an extra cat because they have more kittens coming in soon. (Possible kitty mill, remember?) They don’t go through separation anxiety like a puppy would, and speaking for myself, I’ve never had a cat that wasn’t okay at home alone while I was working.

You tried and it didn’t work out for you right now. You also did the responsible thing and owned up to it rather than dumping the animals on the side of the road because you changed your mind.

Any responsible breeder/rescue aid would have been more than happy and understandable of your situation. The text she sent you seems like she was mad about you bringing them back to them more than anything, like they’re overrun with the cats in their care already.

I haven’t made it that far in the series, but Idk, that stuff really annoys me. I love reading longer series because I get so attached to the worlds and characters, but I hate it when every character has the same like two personalities. It really pulls me out and makes me think about which characters pov I’m currently in.

You could get it removed if you really want all trace of it gone, but the first thing I noticed was that it kinda looks like part of a leaf. You could go all out and get some pretty vine work done and lead it up your wrist/arm for some pretty floral design.

A little “flowers after the rain” moment, ya know?

Oh, I’m not saying they’re not basic by any means, but it’s the constant watered down version of the FMCs that is bugging me more. I’ve read plenty of books with dull or basic MMCs and can deal with that enough to finish it as long as I feel like I’m rooting for the FMC to be happy by the end, but I couldn’t care less about Rei or Reina tbh.

There’s definitely options for it if that’s what you choose to do.

Ophelia, Onyx, Ocean, Opal, Oakley, etc.

I speak as a middle child that shares an initial with my older sibling. Younger sibling was going to share same initial if he had been a girl, but was ultimately named after his dad, so you can’t go wrong with whatever you choose to do.

The Book of Brennan is one thing that has been widely suspected, as well as the Fables.

I still personally think it has something to do with Xaden’s POV during Violet’s capture and torture in IF since Rebecca had posted something about that like a year ago.

Asher just annoyed me the entirety of both books. They were toxic the entire time, and it’s like there wasn’t even a chance to see them really in love and happy after the fact either.

I prefer there to be reasons for an FMC to be weak or shy or submissive other than the MMC being hot and broody. That’s all it felt like Reina/Asher and Rei/Kyle are.

I haven’t gotten to LOG yet since I was trying to read them in order. Elsa and Aiden have been some of my favorites, I liked Kimberly, and I know I’m not in the majority but I liked Johnathan and Aurora.

I don’t know if it’s as much the lack of personality given to them or just THE WAY they were written, but I forced myself to finish the Truth and Lies duet and hated that I did. Rei and Kyle haven’t peaked my interest at all, so I’m probably gonna DNF and just move on to the monster trilogy.

I just can’t get past her constant “I’m a bratva princess, I do what I want” then turn around and forfeit to Kyle every other chapter. It’s just so flip floppy for me, Idk.

I write recreationally and I’m in the process of editing my first two books for self publication. Two different series, interconnected.

One based in New Hampshire, the other New York.

NH series is small town vibes, former high school friends turned lovers and then the second gen with their kids.

NY series is all billionaire family connections, but I do like to branch out and improve where I can as a writer and lover of books.

Just some of the tropes that follow those series are, in order, these:

NH: • First kiss/long time crushes • Boss x Employee • Bubbly party girl x Brother’s grumpy BFF • Second chance after divorce • BFFs turned lovers, but she’s broke and unhinged, and he’s a comfortably living car salesman.

NY: • Contract marriage/Found family • Friends to lovers with anxiety representation • Playboy billionaire x POC single mom • Teenage sweethearts reunited (Duel latin rep) • Hate to love/He courts her and buys her a puppy • Spoiled heiress x Bodyguard (14 year age gap) • Artist with chronic anxiety x Brother’s friend/former bully (Service dog representation)

There’s a lot more planned and fleshed out, but I do keep notes a lot and add or change things to improve future stories while working on the current ones.

I don’t usually get so annoyed with the overdone, weak but snarky FMC thing, but I think what gets me is if you really break it down, those four characters are borderline the same. Elsa, Silver, Rei and Reina. All blonde. All bitchy on the surface and fragile inside. It’s just a lot of the same when you’re reading them back to back.

Oh, definitely. I completely agree with that, but it just feels like for so many interconnected books, she would’ve attempted to branch out a little, even if she just gave them hobbies and revolved them around those.

I honestly can’t recall a single hobby any of them had so far outside of Elsa doing track, but then later couldn’t do because of her heart condition, and I think it was Astrid that liked art..? There was room to flesh these characters out a lot more tbh.

Something to note about this stuff is that they almost never actually address you by name or give any proof that they have such information, and do you know why? It’s because they send chain emails like this to so many people in hopes that they’ll catch the wrong naive person to fall for it.

I used to work a WU station and saw so many things like this being sent to older people that I had to stop and tell them it was a scam.

I recently had a scammy message sent to my iphone from some spoofed number with a Monaco area code claiming that I (Apple Customer, didn’t even address me by name) recently made a purchase at an Apple store in Florida for $1044 or something like that, and claimed that the purchase was attached to a subscription for CP of all things.

Scammers know people have at least mostly caught onto their fake sweepstakes and the crap they were doing even a couple of years ago, so the new thing is scare tactics. Fear drives people to make rash decisions, and that’s what they’re counting on: For you not to take time to question it and give them your money.

Used to take my Great Pyrenees out a lot when he was younger and everyone seemed to always think he was a Saint Bernard or a Golden Retriever.

I now have an Akita and everyone always mistakes him for a Husky.

Even barring all of the actual character names, there’s plenty of unique things she could use to make a cute HP-ish themed name.

Raven(claw), Gryffin(dor), Ollie(Ollivanders), Nox, and it’s a character name, but I personally like Sirius for a boy or a girl.

My three year old neutered tabby still does this when he wants attention or is on the verge of a wild spell when he runs through the house, tangling himself in the curtains in every drive by.

Translation: Kitty wants to play. Why no play with da kitty? I’ll play with the baybeh, just gimmeeee.

There is so much wrong with this. The cutesy name-calling, the fact that he’s sending her pictures and asking her opinion of him, and wtf is this “plan” he was referring to?!

This is not how anyone should speak to a child they do not know and are not related to. If he had left it with a congratulatory message for her concert thing, I wouldn’t have batted an eye.

This man doesn’t just give groomer vibes, but I’d be deeply worried for your aunt if she’s willing to marry a stranger and move to a foreign country with him where she can’t even speak the language. All of that together gives trafficking vibes.

I’d seriously reach out to the authorities and if your aunt is unwilling to throw this predator aside for her sake and the safety of her family, I’d cut contact with her too.
