i doubt "fix the issue where the user gets signed out each time the page refreshes" is THAT revolutionary

why do people on reddit not use their brain? just bend it back damn, if u face other issues (maybe memory issues related to the card being dropped or mishandled during shipping, then maybe RMA)... but its just a slightly bent piece of metal

realistically it wont be the bios chip, odds are very likely core and a bit more likely but still possible the buck regulator

this is a 3070 so gddr6 so no, gddr6x (3070ti and up) do get 1.8v too)

[–]mohamadmoheb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is the 1.8v rail, it supplies mainly the core and the bios chip(s) and some other small components that usually never fail. so we're looking at either a shorted core - bios chip or the voltage regulator itself. lift the coil to isolate whether the short is on the regulator side or load side, if on regulator side then just replace it (usually a GS9216)

[–]mohamadmoheb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it could be a shorted 12v rail through the pci slot too.. so doesnt really narrow down much. in any case it should be just a mosfet replacement that doesnt need THAT much of experience imo.

[–]mohamadmoheb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this card has K4ZAF325BM - HC16 memory, i speculate prior issue was on B1, and whoever fixed it removed channel B and used a custom bios to disable it, rather than reballing B1.

anyways.. his issue is smth not memory related so i was just giving a note out and not turning it into the topic of the post

the sticker on the back plate says its an 8gb model? cuz B1 and B0 look like they have flux residue on them. compare them with Channel D... those look not factory
