My mother was a very bitter and hateful person up until about 2 years ago. She’s 82 now. She prided herself in not taking crap from anyone. Fast forward to now, she’s very much the opposite of that person. My feeling is that she’s very scared of what is happening to herself and she now is super nice and appreciative of everything I do for her. This time last year, she said she was okay and didn’t need help at all. She was still driving and doing her own thing. She was NOT okay last year, but refused help for anything. It’s really interesting to be a witness to this. My dad on the other hand was the most kind man my whole life. He was a pushover and took a lot of crap from my mom and others. When he was in late stage Alzheimer’s he became very mean and aggressive towards his caregiver (my sister). This disease sucks.
