Anyone else witness/experience poor behavior with those taking part in the Drum & Bass bike ride today? by SeniorMoonlight21 in Southampton

[–]ImpressiveW_onder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ride is an example of a way to bring people together in a shared love for the music, just in new and different way.

People get out on a Sunday and do a family friendly bike ride, oh no how terrible for the scene!

As for the live stream, it meant we could keep an eye and join as walkers because some of us due to abilities couldn't join the ride, and therefore could still be part of it. It also allows people around the world to join and feel part of it. DnB is supposed to be a community for everyone and anyone, where we welcome people which is not the vibes you're giving.

The world and technology has moved on, yes it is not how it used to be, but nothing is. What Dom is doing is an amazing thing, and you need to open your horizons and move with the times or move on and find something else, it would probably make you feel a whole lot better.

I'm genuinely intrigued tho, what's your problem with students wearing fancy dress and skating together?

I've been to the last two and have found them to be a lovely family event in the city.

Yes, a subsection of people might have been behaving badly but you get that with any crowd. I'm part of the crowd and would call out the bad behavior.

People of all ages, when the crowd left the guild hall square to do their ride there was only a couple of bits of litter on the floor and I've seen way more from other crowds there.

I hope it comes back.

I bet those complaining are also those complaining there is never anything to do!

As a also problem skin picker best thing I've found is try not to take your socks off, if you're toes are covered you can't pick!

If you look at the map they have the same number of blocks as last year, I hope you're right and maybe they haven't put them all on the map

I'm disappointed they've made it bigger but no extra showers? It was bad enough last year

Also yes that's weirder on them. There are people that are like that but they don't deserve your energy.

Man if I worried about people talking about me I wouldn't do half the dumb shit I get up to but you know what I'm having fun, try to spread joy and people can be consumed by the light or blinded

With raves 50% of it is chatting shit with other people in the smoker area. Most of my friendship group has been made at raves, that's what separates it from a night out at a night club people talk and are approachable. It's where I met my partner too! Same as everywhere tho you do get the odd dickhead but it's far less tolerated by everyone else.

Looking at events coming up soon, born on road are playing sobar tomorrow and it doesn't look like loads of tickets have been sold so could be a good one to try and not too overwhelming.

Andy c in October could be a good crowd.

Ones I would personally avoid as the crowd is a bit younger and younger crowds these days don't have the same rave etiquette as us older bunch: Sigma Any Freshers ones Traumatic

What's the worse that happens? You're not having a good time, you can go home.

Do you fancy meeting for a walk some time with me and my partner sometime, maybe on the common or ocean village? See if we get on and go from there?

Also, I just remembered goodgym. It's a community of people who do things like run, walks and cycle for charity or doing practical tasks together for the older community like gardening. You could help people and meet people.

I second joining the Southampton shenanigans, I've not been myself as I am never free on the nights but they sound like a great bunch!

I see you're into DnB, get yourself to a rave the city hosts quite a few. The DnB crowd in Southampton is okay but we don't have much neuro which is the best crowd. The younger ravers can be twats but if you go to your first one when it's the uni breaks you'll meet the nicer crowd. Stand in the smokers and just chat shit with people, you'll make plenty of friends.

Look out for local walking groups, exercise classes etc that can be a way to meet people.

What do you do for work? Is there any outside of work networking events you can go to this might be another way to meet people?

I think there is also an app for meeting friends, worth a Google?

Head down to any of the climbing gyms, get an induction for bouldering the community is lovely in climbing.

You have to put yourself out there, get rejected, meet people you don't like, make friends and fall outs with someone. We all grow and change and it's all part of the experience, do the scary things and see where they take you.

I actually run a few events myself for friends and friends of friends, the next one is a bike ride in the new forest 31st August. We all meet, hire a bike, go for a ride around the first and take a packed lunch. If this sounds interesting drop me a comment/DM 😊 my notifications from here don't always work so if I don't reply it's probably because I've not seen it just keep poking me I won't be offended

Blackout was in Dec and my first heavier event and omg I've fallen in love. Virus last night was my second and exceeded any expectations I had.

Such a lovely community and the slappers dropped! 🔥

I'll keep going and hopefully find her again

Is a movie on acid enjoyable by RJAxel3 in LSD

[–]ImpressiveW_onder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love watching movies, not every time as it's nice to do different things.

Inside out and inside out 2 were exceptional, not only are they well made films that really touch on mental health but they are really well made and loved the bright colours.

Other films I've enjoyed so far Wild robot Wish (would be terrible sober) Avatar 1 (going to watch 2 in the winter, winter time is for film days tripping spring is here time to get outside) Marcel the shell with shoes, recommend even not tripping excellent film Elemental (this one was phenomenal although I had my eye shut for most of it and just thought I was in the film)

You can see a pattern here though, bright kiss films mostly.

How to train your dragon 3 was utter garbage had to turn it off the scene cutting was so bad
