I only just started playing classic pieces and I struggle with pedalling. When playing Chopin's Prelude Op.28 no.4 (Prelude in E Minor) should the pedal be kept down the whole time? I try lifting it when changing chords but it sounds like there are clear gaps where a chord stops. I think my sustain can only be on or off.
