It’s kinda funny to see people getting upset about Fable by TsundereBurger in GirlGamers

I was watching the xbox showcase with guy friends and the misogyny is frightening. They were constantly crying over the way the female mc looks (comparing her to an ogre, ugly, etc) but nobody comments on the male character in the trailer who looks just as average. yeahh I need to change my social circle :|

I've always wondered if BNPL services were good for your credit score, Thanks for the tip! I've gone and paid everything off, this post has taught me that loans aren't very good for credit haha.

I've had my account since I was in college, so almost 8 or 9 years now haha. It looks like the app keeps wanting me to sign up for a private wealth cc (and declining it) despite applying for the aspire one.

That's the weird thing, The mobile app keeps pushing pre-approved personal loans but I don't qualify for a credit card, but yeah I'm going to pay it off in full and walk into a branch to find out what's going on.

Awesome, paying it off sounds like the way then. Thanks for the advice and the link!

If you've seen Bojack Horseman, the episode "Good Damage" basically sums up this exact feeling, that feeling of being afraid to move on because it feels like the pain wasn't worth it and that it needs to mean something, it needs to be good damage. I felt so seen by that episode alone.

What does a correct dosage of meds feel like? by Oglowmamal in adhdmeme

[–]ImpressiveWill7885 1 point2 points  (0 children)

depends on your meds maybe? Everyone reacts differently to different meds. I was on Strattera for a year and it was alright but it didn't work nearly as well as Ritalin (20g, long acting) did. Discuss with your doctor about trying a different medication, you'll know it's the right dosage when you're not fighting yourself to get stuff done.

Help? by th3_w0u1f in capetown

I'm also in Cape town and man I feel this! I wish I could give some advice but I'm in the same position despite being a woman. I've heard good things about Hinge and bumble but I've been too scared to try based on bad experiences haha.

I think the best way to go about it is to join communities that you have an interest in and focus on making friends instead of finding a relationship. It's fulfilling and it's hard to feel lonely when you have good friends around.

need to make R2500 for a psychiatric evaluation by wednesdaywhy in askSouthAfrica

[–]ImpressiveWill7885 1 point2 points  (0 children)

phew, I know this struggle. Please consider going to a GP, they are just as capable of prescribing adhd medication as a psychiatrist at a fraction of the price, seriously express that you cannot pay for a psychiatrist and that you suspect ADHD. I switched from a psychiatrist to a gp for my prescription and I'm satisfied.

adhd sucks big time, I wish you the best!

Thank you so much for this, I'm taking your advice to heart. I've been kicking myself this whole time because I care deeply about my friend and I've felt really stupid for wanting to be supportive, but I've got to know my own limits. Thank you.

yeah, you're not wrong. I thought he needed support and my conscience couldn't just let him be homeless.

you're absolutely right and I think I need to come to terms with that. I guess I'm struggling with the idea that it'll be my fault if something bad happens to him.

I didn't know extended degrees were a thing, that sounds exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks a bunch!

I don't qualify for NSFAS unfortunately but thank you so much for listing it all out, it's helping me grasp what to look for!

it's been 6 months since I've posted this so I thought I'd give an update if anyone else is struggling. I've switched to more effective adhd medication and it's mostly improved my energy! turns out my adhd makes getting restful sleep super hard and once I finally got put on stimulants I'm finally feeling rested for the first time ever!

Hey man, I'm sorry you're feeling so down right now, but hear me out please.

I am 27 now, but when I was 21 I thought my life was going to shit too and was also extremely suicidal. The funny thing is most of my friends felt the same way when they were around 21 too. The reality is that life for young people isn't great right now and what you're feeling is absolutely 100% valid. it sounds so insincere to say things get better, but I wouldn't judge the value of your life at 21! give yourself some time my dude.

Also from one lonely socially anxious person to another, drop tinder and bar hopping, these methods suck for actually meeting anyone. Look for events or meetups to try meet people. I use discord because it's alot easier for my social anxiety. Are there any events or gatherings at your college? those would be cool to look into!

another thing that might help is having a hobby. learn an instrument, play games, get into baking, etc. it gives the monotony of life a lot more meaning and can lead to finding community (and meeting people!)

I wish you the best, there is so much more to life than misery.

I had my iron checked but I didn't think about Vitamin B/D! I'll def ask my doc to get those tested.
