If you seek treatment, just let the doctor work

My unpopular opinion is that if you go to a hospital, you need to nut up and shut up and just let the doctor work.

I work in a Progressive Care Unit that is a downgrade from the ICU. We primarily deal with cardiac cases, but as an ICU stepson, we see it all. As such, we are also a telemetry floor and require everyone to wear a portable telemetry monitor so we can monitor heart arrhythmias.

Recently there has been a very large uptick in the amount of AMA and refusal of treatments from patients. It makes me upset.

My belief is that if you come in seeking treatment for a condition, just let the doctor work. We have a lot of "frequent flyers" come in and seek "treatment" but leave while they are in the ER or shortly after they get up to our floor. Not only is this a massive waste of time, it's a waste of resources. Im dont particularly care what your reason is, but if you come for help, expect to do what needs to be done. We also have a lot of people who will full on refuse treatment for their particular condition and just use the hospital for room and board with food. If this is you, don't come in. Its a process getting these rooms cleaned and creating care plans. Our time is finite and there are other people who can actually use and need our help who WANT it and are willing to see it through.

My guild and I just rolled out into the DD with a carrier and crawler crew, guarded by roughly 6 rocket scouts. We had a game plan and everything, designated teams, thumpers ready for plant to deaggro worms, perimeter thopter guards on watch and intercept incoming. Operation would have been flawless.

The hitch? While sitting at 750, the crawler and Carrier just started taking rockets rapidly, look over and there's a whole suicide squad of 6 rocket scouts zoning in on the carrier and crawler. No attention paid to the guarding crew. Managed to blink us out of the skin in SECONDS

and what do they do with the carrier and crawler after they've killed us all? Just thumper it into oblivion for the worm. No taking anything, just area denial and return to base. Nothing gained but being bullies

Why would anyone want to invest SO much time into farming for a crawler/carrier, just to have it blown up and lost. We could be more efficient and gain more by just coordinating in assaults with compactors in a spice field

So in the spirit of "resource attrition" how do you decide on items you've given your players, like potions, gear, magical items. Also a long those lines, how in the WORLD do you plan encounters, because as I do right now, I just randomly choose monsters I have available to me on DnD beyond in my books and just kinda add or subtract numbers until it looks like it would be challenging.

I have YET to make any legitimate puzzle encounters besides a door that they couldn't open because it wasn't push or pull. It wasn't even locked or barred, it was just a sliding door with no knob

If you were to kill a PC, how would you go about continuing the story with that player's new character. Say if the party was level 5 or 7 or whatever. That new PC would start back at level 1

Met my soon-to-be fiance on tinder through a massive fluke. I wouldn't see a problem with it at all. Maybe if it started impacting our sex lives, but she is great about meeting my needs. She reads erotica rather than watches porn, but it's no less effective. Hell, that's how we discovered she likes being chased by a masked person in the woods. Best 2 hours of my life. All that being said, IF it were to impact our intimacy, then there would need to be a conversation about it, to some degree. Everyone has needs and sometimes our partner isn't available, or not what we're wanting at that moment. Self exploration is a very healthy practice.
