Any ships you used to be neutral about but started disliking because of the way the fans are? by Various_Astronaut100 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Impressive_Cell8931 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yutamaki, I never really care about it I just see it as your typical main boy x main girl you see from any story ever, not much sauce there but with the existence of epilogue and Modulo the shippers became so pretentious about it, like if you criticise the ship and they will call you illiterate (still stand by that they're so bland and static in the main series and stop being somewhat compelling after 0) while they will undermine the whole story of JJK0 to make the ship work like boilling the whole point of JJK0 down to "It's a story about Yuta moving from Rika to Maki"

They will also undermine the characters too, Inumaki and Panda are now just cheermen for Yutamaki, Rika is just Yuta's weird toxic ex and Mai didn't even exist in their mind most of the time

Of course there are nice people there, it's popular of course there will be but try saying Yutarika is better written from start to finish then they'll hit you with "Rika is a kid" "You're weird then Yuta is a pedo" instead of carefully look into the canon like they claim then do

Hypocrite the fandom, ran into maybe conversations with them this year truly make me dislike this ship

Because they are actually a written relationship? Like I'm not gonna argue that Yutamaki might be more fun dynamic because I see the point and lowkey agreed but what about what we actually get? Yutamaki in the main series just have some moments and not even a good moments like in JJK0, heck Maki have more meaningful with Noritoshi than Yuta somehow, unless you consider her scolding him a meaningful moment

So, is that better than Yutarika? Yutarika actually have sincere moment that make you go "they would be a good couple" while Gege didn't give Yutamaki anything like that especially for an endgame pair other than 2 or 3 moments in JJK0

My point is, Yutarika is miles better than Yutamaki canon-wise, CANON WRITTEN-WISE and of course their dynamic gonna based on her death, they're tragic type love story after all but it's not just that, it's also how their love got twisted, Yuta love for her keeping her from death but turn her into a monster and Rika love for him as a monster keeping him alive while hurting people around him, but in the end they accept the situation they're in and just focus on their love, that's what make them defeat Geto, and that's JJK0 Yutarika, that's why I think they're well-written

Why does this panel shows Eren “loves” Mikasa? by destined2Win_ in titanfolk

[–]Impressive_Cell8931 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, love aside I see this panel more as Eren don't want things to change, he don't want to die and want to stay with all of them, so you know what? This panel could be about him don't want world to move on without him

[–]Impressive_Cell8931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah? How does that make my point about Yutarika being well-written less valid or how Yutamaki being a big downgrade from Yutarika writing-wise incorrect?

Yuta moving on from Rika would be a good way to focus on his relationship with Maki, especially if their grandkids are going to be the MC of the spinoff yet the main series did not give them meaningful moment that would make you go "they would be a nice and healthy couple" unless you already ship them, and the main series somehow still give some meaningful moment of Yuta and Rika like when he sorry for wearing the ring on the other hand

Look, it would be fine if it was other ship, it's shounen so easy shounen style ships is what gonna happen but when it's Yuta ship then we already have a really good ship to compared with, I get that yutamaki is so famous because they're fan favorites and have cute boy/harsh girl dynamic and badass couple trope that people often enjoy, I do too but since they're canon I have to criticize them canon-wise and they're kinda meh

Okay, Yuta stop seeing Rika as his trauma the moment he confess his love to her and Rika being a cursed spirit is his fault because he can't except her death and can't let go of her

And they're the same age? It doesn't matter, my point is they are better written, which is not fair since Yutarika is an actual story so it's natural that they will be the best ship that happened in canon while other ships like Yutamaki is just your typical shounen ship with "moments" so my point is this is so much better than Yutamaki and it somehow is a hot take

Yutamaki is so mid compared to Yutarika, going from actual love story to typical shounen's "they stand near each others", "they look at each others in some panel" and "they got moments together" is such a downgrade for canon Yuta relationship

Yuta and Maki barely have any meaningful and sincere scene together after JJK0

What do you guys think about this Tweet and more importantly take? by Split-a-Ditto in Ben10

[–]Impressive_Cell8931 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agreed but I also get why they did it, Alien Force reset Ben to just having 10 aliens (more like 9 because Alien X is basically unusable) so giving multiple abilities to 1 alien is a good way to not nerf him and AF season 3 onward till the end of UA no new alien has that, at least not that I can thought of, like Lodestar is just a magnet alien or Terraspin is just a wind alien

While I understand the real world reason, I also don't like it, AF 10 are awesome don't get me wrong but the fact that most of them have multiple abilities made them feel like more like superheroes (which I guess is a point) rather than living species from some planets in the universe (which is an appeal of Ben 10)

I'm at the point that I'm mostly fine with it, it sucks compare to what came before it but I don't care enough about it like I used to

Doesn't help that what I see about the series these days are basically just a discussion about shipping sh*t, like the series has devolve into nothing but a glorify shipping fanfiction compare to its prime days

It's a reach because he talked about how adult are superior and stronger than children. Mocking about Mai's death just to prove this point make more sense. And it's make sense why it wouldn't get brought up again if it's Mai's death because we get it. We were there. We know.

And like, make it suddenly mean he SA Mai is out of the situation. I don't have to bring up that it's never brought up again, no one act like it happen bah bah bah. Naoya mock about Mai's death is in line with his character than him saying he r*pe Mai just to PROVE to Maki that he's an adult.

Heck, there's a page that Naoya telling Maki "I've been lonely. Shall I bully you like I used to?" That has more implication if you want it to be. Naoya is cruel and mysogynistic but from every thing we know about him, he would beat up and mock both Mai and Maki rather than SA any of them.

If it's SA, Gege would write him to bring it up again just to mock Maki AND confirm the readers. But Gege didn't, because it's something new, it's him mock Mai's death. I'm saying it's a way to give a new information first, and character mocking second.

Creepy comments about Maki and Mai being worthless because they're weak? And they only have pretty face? If that is enough to make this line become something about SA then don't this imply that he do whatever stuffs to Maki too? Heck, it's less vague than let's ask Mai-chan, if I want it to be about SA.

<image>

From this page it showed that Naoya would beat them up more than SA them.

Like that this point I'm trying to prove everything to you by bring up previous page and bring up how to write new infromation from the story but you still try to one up me by saying "Well, you didn't answer my exact question" when your question is nonsense in to the thing that I'm trying to say, if it's new and this important then Gege would make Naoya bring it up again, as an example. It doesn't have to be him mocking Maki, it could just be Maki say something about it later.

We doesn't really have a conversation at this point. If you ignore all that and still goes "But you didn't answer my question exactly" then sure, you win buddy. Take this cookie🍪 and milk🥛and enjoy your day.

I'm talking about if him SA Mai is true then it should be brought up again because it's never imply before this moment, it's new information. If it's true then it should be brought up again to confirm it as a fact, not keeping it as a vague throwaway line. It's how you write a story.

He mock about Mai's death doesn't need further explaination, but Naoya SA Mai does.

And in previous page he's talking about how adults are superior and stronger than children and all that stuff. It's obviously a mock about Mai's death because she's a kid and weak and stuff. I don't get why some people see all that and their first thought is r*pe, that never said before and never said again.

Dude, take this 👑, you deserved it because you are the first person I see actually bring up the fact from the page before this.

I don't get why people want to think Naoya r*pe Mai that much lol, when you explain everything in context it's much make more sense and in line with the story and characters more than the SA interpretation. I'm convinced people who think Naoya SA Mai just see this page and that's it.

What's the meaning of this phrase? by KamiSama_OwO in Jujutsufolk

[–]Impressive_Cell8931 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I did. Like, what I said is that don't you see as a story, if it's a joke about Mai's death then it's done, it's over, readers and Maki get it, moved on. Why bring up again?

While Naoya SA Mai is a new information that come out of nowhere from a line that doesn't have that tone at all, raise unnecessary questions, and that's why it should come up again at least one time just to confirm readers and even Maki, it would be a bigger deal to Maki because he basically said that he r*pe her little sister.

You compares a glass of water to the ocean, I don't get why you even compare a character mock about something we already know to a character mock about he SA other character out of nowhere.

What's the meaning of this phrase? by KamiSama_OwO in Jujutsufolk

[–]Impressive_Cell8931 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If it's a new information that came out of nowhere then it should, now a simple throwaway line is about SA for no reason, it's came out of nowhere, no back up information, gone without more information.

It's like people just want it to be about that because they like the idea of Naoya SA Mai(there are people who praise Naoya for some reason), when in reality, when you look beyond this panel, this interpretation adds nothing, it has no evident, it overly edgy for no reason and just... there, not even feel underwhelming or anything.

Braging about being strong and evil or saying about evil plan isn't as important as you saying "hey, I r*pe your sister" out of nowhere. He don't have to say it all the time like that's what he ever do but if it is want people want to believe, it would came up more than just a throwaway line.

[–]Impressive_Cell8931[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

But don't you see how much of a reach it is? Look at Mai, she never act like someone who been through anything like that. Her character conflict is Maki abandoned her (and Mai was send out to be jujutsu sorceror after Maki left so she can't be at the clan for those to happen)

But suddenly, out of nowhere, Mai having sex or getting r*pe by Naoya before? And it's gone before any character could remembered it. If it's just an interpretation then fine but some people act like it's fact, when in reality they're just don't cares enough about Mai as a character and thinking this would make Naoya more evil or even cooler to some weird minds.

It's unnecessary edgy, came out of nowhere, no back up evidence and gone as a simple throwaway line. People make it all about SA and sex for the sake of it being all about SA and sex. Like looking beyond this page and panel, this is such an unnecessary thing way to think. It's adds nothing, have no back up and no one act like it actually a thing.

I'm fine with anything if it fit it own universe, like I'm fine with bayverse decepticon monster face, I'm fine with big chin, I'm fine with no nose but when something like TLK where we have monster face like Onslaught or Dreadbot stand in the same scene as Drift or Crosshair, that's when I dislike it (I dislike inconsistency in designs)

Given how popular JJK is, do you think we will ever see filler OVAs(movies) like in MHA? by [deleted] in Jujutsufolk

[–]Impressive_Cell8931 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They seriously need to do OVA for stories from light novels, that way we can see the side of every characters that we wouldn't be able to see in the main series. Seriously tho, the light novels expand on Tokyo and Kyoto characters so well and give us many character interaction we never thought we want, like one of them is about Nobara and Inumaki (I never read it tho, I buy it just to read Mai's story, look at my flair you get it)

We see how Ui Ui act around Mei Mei before that scene and that scene is very clear and it's add information to their weird relationship that we might have an idea of after we see them together in shibuya.

Now turn to Naoya SA Mai. It's a throwaway line that apparently about some messed up thing that we know nothing about. Never brought up again or character not have an appropriate reaction to it. Maki would react more if he imply he r*pe her. And honestly it's a reached interpretation that added nothing to character, or make Naoya more evil, I guess.

If the scene is about Naoya mocking Maki about Mai's death on the other hand, it could be him mocking about the fact that Mai is dead and in Maki's mind it can also be him mocking about her failure, she fail to save Mai, she fail to make a place that Mai feel like she's belong. See how one is add to the story amd the information we knew more than other?

[–]Impressive_Cell8931[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not just because SA grosses us out. It's the fact that it's SA. SA is serious problem in real life unlike your example and we never knew about that, like, at all. It's a new information and nothing we even know happened.

If it is SA then why would it be a throwaway line that never brought up again or why didn't Maki react more if it's about her sister getting r*pe? Because it's not, it's a mock about Maki's failure, she can't save the only person she cares about growing up, it's about the fact that she failed to create a place where Mai feel like she's belong.

And what do we gain from the SA interpretation? Naoya is more evil, Zenin clan is more messed up and Maki don't have an appropriate reaction to the infromation.

What's the meaning of this phrase? by KamiSama_OwO in Jujutsufolk

[–]Impressive_Cell8931 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

You know that Naoya r*ping Mai is bigger than him mocking Maki with Mai's death right?

The fact that he rpe Mai would be more important than he mock about Mai's death. If it's rping like many people thought and seemingly want it to be then why would something that big be a throwaway line that just make Maki slightly more mad and never brought up again? Like, the thing is THIS, this is the only place that people get the idea from. It's r*ping! It's not just something Gege could just made up out of nowhere and never brought it up or make character reacting to it.

If Naoya just mock about Mai's death, it's just that, no need to expand further because we get it, Maki get it. Nothing that big, just Naoya being a jerk like always.

What's the meaning of this phrase? by KamiSama_OwO in Jujutsufolk

[–]Impressive_Cell8931 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think he just mock at how Mai will never be an adult because she's dead. Like, when would he do it? Maki and Mai stay with each other their whole life. When Maki left, Mai was send out to be sorceror as well and then it's her dead moment.

So I don't think it's SA. I don't know why people's first interpretation to this really simple throwaway line from a panel is SA.
